These weren't nearly as stupid as I thought they were going to be when reading about them. Lois saw that the kryptonite weakened Clark, so she tried to get rid of it. Then she saw a monster come out of the Kryptonian ship and put 2 and 2 together and tried to get it back. MoS takes the cake for stupid shit in a movie.

I think my biggest issue with the spear scene is that it was entirely designed just to give Lois something to do during the scene that was stupid as hell. They could have had Lois help evacuate the area to protect the civilians, or document what was happening as a journalist, or try to contact someone in the military or CIA to be careful due to the alien's kryptonian nature, but.... nah.
