The prime difference between a hero and a villain is who they are willing to protect.

A hero puts other's safety ahead of their own. A villain prioritizes their own well-being over anything else.

A superhero who isn't liberal has literally failed at his intended purpose. There's a reason most villains are portrayed as conservatives hanging onto some bygone, outdated mode of thinking like it still matters.

The ability to stand up for what is right, even when it means your life.

(which is what makes it so hard for many people to like Superman, since there are only one or two things that can kill him)
>>
>>81367586

I've always considered a hero as someone who brings a sort of balance to a situation unbalanced by an outside force.

A women walking down the streets is mugged? The criminals get beaten up by Batman. She keeps her money and belongings, while the criminals are beaten and sent to jail for creating that situation to rehabilitate.

The women didn't asked to be mugged. The criminal created the wronged situation. The hero returns things to balance.

This is how I perceive a hero to be.
>>
>>81367586
As someone who gets called one, it comes down to about ten seconds of decision making. It's about doing the right thing, for the sake of doing the right thing, even if that means you are putting yourself in danger by doing so. It's about running toward danger, not away from it. You don't go looking for it, but you always respond when it happens close to you. And never think yourself a hero, because you'll set yourself up for an Icarus situation, or even a Lucifer situation. Just be the person that the situation calls for, even if that means you may die.

That's how you are a hero.

Me personally I'm a traveler who has seen alot of people, and a lot of places.

>(which is what makes it so hard for many people to like Superman, since there are only one or two things that can kill him)
Even if that were true, that's bullshit. There's only one thing that can kill any superhero, and that's plot. Batman has been in near death experiences and survived because of plot, and it's the same with Superman. Everyone is so hung up on the details of strengths/weakenesses that they ignore the facts.
>>

>>81368801
More than this, no writer really puts himself in the shoes of Superman. A character who lives in a "world of paper". A character who could just enjoy life and his powers but chooses instead to be limited and devote himself to save as many people as possible. Too many people think that being Superman is too easy, because too few stop to really think on his state
>>
>>81369121

Cops are overseers of the public peace. Generally they are not heroes, but they are in a position to become that if under the right circumstances they act to protect someone at the expense of themselves.

The real root of the moralfag hypocrisy is that their actions and decisions simply aren't founded in any reasonable human behavior, and make unbelievable and shitty characters because of it. The only reason they can do it is because they're given lolplot super powers and virtually never feel any repercussions for their actions.

As an example from the vidya. someone like Ramza typically isn't called a moralfag despite the fact he constantly makes decisions that benefit others rather than himself. This is because he constantly struggles and sacrifices to do what he wants. He loses friends, is forced to kill relatives, and gains absolutely no honor or fame for his actions until long long after his death. He's never shown as feeling superior for his "good" choices, he simply does what he wants to do for his own reasons and that's that.

Meanwhile, Delita who pushes for the same goals with completely different means is never really viewed as evil because at the end of the day his "selfish" actions are truly beneficial to the entire kingdom for generations.

Human beings aren't complicated, which is why moralfags are looked down upon, when they're somehow even more shallow than an already simple subject. Evil characters typically avoid the same stigma because the excuse is usually that they're lolinsane

>>
>>81375069
You poor dumb fuck. Do you think police officers are stormtroopers or some shit? Do you really believe that every single police officer in the US is a racist bigot? No, you stupid shit, that makes up less than 1% of them, I'm sure. The reason you see those stories on the news is because they know that people will watch/buy their papers. Any time a white, mexican, or asian man is killed, it doen't nake national headlines the same way the death of a black man does. Because nobody cares.
>>
>>81367586
