Both the early egotistical-but-also-vaguely-lonely misanthrope (that pretty much only existed in season 2) and the cartoonish supervillain interpretation were great. After the whole Who Shot Burns things they deliberately made him more out of touch/antiquated instead of evil, to the point that I don't even know what the fuck he's supposed to be anymore.
Flying Hellfish was maybe the last really good episode he was in.
