Now that the dust has settled and we all agree that it was actually pretty good, do you think WB will fuck everything up with all this quip reshoots?

Everyone who claims this was good is either lying to themselves or to others.

Did anyone notice, that just before Wonder Woman played the first meta human video file, there came blaring the heroic music for like 5 more more seconds. Nothing had happened yet. Al we were looking at was some random security footage, but the music was LOUD AND EPIC FOR NO REASON.

As a huge fan of Batman and as someone who thinks Superman is classically one of the most boring characters ever, I genuinely enjoyed the movie.

No. Its just....OKAY. Its poorly edited and crammed with unnecessary shit but in hindsight Id rather watch it over the Iron Man sequels or both Thors. Theres a good movie in here but the execution is a misfire. Batman single handedly saves it from being utter shit

Supergirl is a likeable and interesting character. Superman has virtually NO personality. He quietly does the right thing 100% of the time and does it with all American gumption. But there's nothing below the surface.
>>
>>81307560
You don't get it. I'm highlighting the bad editing. There was epic music blaring before we got to see any action. The music should have came in just as the Flash actually did something. Not like 5-10 seconds prior. It was odd how the music came in deafening, when were just watching a cursor click on a file of security footage.
>>

>>81307909
>>81307991

Do you know why there's so much Jesus imagery in these movies? It's because of people like you who even though it's just a character in a book, you genuinely get upset when people don't care about him or his boring adventures of overpoweredness and no depth. You put him on such a Jesus level pedestal, that you can't imagine him being anything other than the one dimensional character written for children in the 1930s.
>>
>>81307913
If liking something shitty for the sake of being positive makes you happy, you are simply lying to yourself. A fake happiness.

I'd rather call things as they are, and only like things that I find enjoyable. Of which BvS sadly (because I wanted to like the damned film) is not one.

The idea of a good person just trying to do what's right is something I can relate to.

The idea of Batman, someone who commits to living his life in misery to beat up villains is not relatable.

But no one cares if they get Batman's personality right anyway as long as he's "badass". That's the type of person who likes this movie.

I LOVE Man of Steel but I'm the first one to say that the editing of the first half was off by a mile. Had the pacing been right, this would've been legitimately a 9/10

I still like the movie and even though I certainly get the hate this movie gets, it's way off the charts

>>
>>81308768

everyone deserves better

DC fags deserve a nicely paced movie that doesn't try to appeal to masses
Marvelfags deserve a movie that doesn't treat its viewers like goddamn apes and that appeals less to the masses

snyder was on the right path but somewhere down the line, some asshole exec probably thought they should go the company route and change up the movie

>>
>>81308804
>The senator was scared after the piss tea and I was left there thinking WHY?
Piss in a jar and call it Grandma's peach tea, plan an assassination and call it a deterrence.

The piss in the jar directly references an assassination, when she realizes Luthor is no longer there it begins to dawn on her that something isn't right, hence her fear.

>DING DING DING DING
We learn that the death of superman heralds the arrival of Darkseid. Since supes died, the bell has been rung. It leads into JL.
>>
>>81308970

>Piss in a jar and call it Grandma's peach tea, plan an assassination and call it a deterrence.

is the second part the actual line she uses? if yes, the scene was even better than I thought. she fucking saw it coming, shit
>>
>>81309024
Yes, knowing full well Lex's planned weapon was an assassination attempt on Supes rather than just a deterrent.
>>
>>81308970
Does she even have a reason to believe Luthor is a murderer like that?
>>
>>81309024
Yeah. That's why it slowly dawns on her in the senate house, then she sees Luthor is gone and it's all too late.

>>
>>81309219
She is fearful because she realizes she is about to die.

She isn't thinking, well the guy who is about to assassinate me is a jubilant character.

>>81309196
Another one to think on is Lex's motivations. Everyone says he has one. But it's actually a great play on a theological argument.

Superman isn't a god, he can't be all powerful and all good. So which category is he lacking in? If he isn't all good, we have the batman plan, that is, "1% chance he is our enemy we have to take as absolute certainty".

Else, we have that he can't be all powerful, which plan B would show up (Doomsday). This is classic Lex, if superman isn't all powerful, then he will let us down one day and if humanity relies on him he will fail us.
>>
>>81309279

I can see it working

>make new scenes with quips
>make these scenes filler scenes
>still connect them to the overall arc

too bad SOME asshole in the company is a retarded dipshit who doesn't understand that proper pacing is necessary. seriously, they are a multi million dollar company. how is there nobody who spots that shit after the editing process is finished?
>>
>>81309308
But that shit always sounds fucking ridiculous when you have to explain it. The movie really isn't that bad. Snyder is a hack director and it wasn't edited well and Lex took the time to create names and symbols for the JL characters but other than that, it's a pretty good blockbuster.
>>
>do reshoots on BvS to force in JL cameos
>do reshoots on SS to force more quips

People act like DC movies are so much different than Marvel but they keep desperately trying to copy them

My fav thing is these movies prove that people either do not know or do not care about superman as a character. That they will eat up whatever 'guy who happens to have supermans' powers Snyder serves up.

I honestly wish they had made tony stark full of witticisms and quirky jokey dialogue like RDJ as tony stark. Just lighthearted about everything so they could go 'wahhhhhhh they ruined my batman that isn't batman' and i could go 'what do you mean he has gadgets and cars and he punches bad guys and dresses in a black cape. He even has dead parents and at one point says he likes justice...how is that not batman?'
>>
i'd like to add to the conversation that part of the reason lex is able to manipulate people on a logical and emotional level is that they're caught up within their own personal struggles to think outside of themselves
finch sees lex for what he is, a manipulative person who wants power ie the scene their scene together in the study
lex is so aware of bruce's and clark's tunnelvision he finds it amusing ie the tower scene
bruce so focused on superman and clark so focused on trying to be a symbol
the central tension of the movie is resolved through love
>>
>>81310702
Lois killed Superman.
If she didn't throw the spear away Wonder Woman could have gotten it instead of Superman having to save her and be to weak to get the spear to Wonder Woman. Lois is the true antagonist of this movie.

Also Superman didn't even stay dead so it doesn't even matter.
>>
>>81310702
He ended up in prison and superman is going to rise from the grave with batman (the dude lex tried to turn against him) as his ally.
he succeeded only in uniting all the super heroes he was trying to control.
Just because he thinks superman is dead for good doesn't mean he succeeded. it just means he got fooled into thinking he succeeded.

This DC movieverse is so mindbendingly awful that I actually have trouble putting into words the depth of it's numerous fuck ups.

Pa Kent does literally the exact opposite of everything we've known him to be. He does nothing to help instill a sense of responsibility and good in his son and will literally die so his son continues to hide like a fucking puss instead of actually helping people. Y'know, that thing Pa Kent was supposed to teach him was really important and shit? Then he gets fathercuck'd by Jor-El who Clark ends up treating like a "real" father.

Clark acts absolutely nothing like we know Clark to act like. He seems like this weirdo fucking alien person instead of a farm boy from Kansas. Look, basically the secret identity of Superman at his core is basically the opposite of Batman: Clark Kent is a person who PRETENDS to be Superman sometimes. Batman is a person who PRETENDS to be Bruce Wayne sometimes. But in these movies, Clark is all "oh on MY planet this means hope" and shit, and flies around he like isn't just some country goober with powers. And then there's all this disgustingly weird Jesus symbolism for some reason? Clark never thought he was better than anyone. He just had powers that he could help people with. That was all. He has acknowledged many-a-time the bravery of those without power, and that it's really all too easy for him in comparison to be a hero since he can barely get hurt. Does no one remember Dan Turpin?

This is honestly the hardest Batman has ever been raped in live action cinematic form. BATMAN FUCKING KILLS PEOPLE IN THIS MOVIE. DUDE, NOT KILLING IS LITERALLY ONE OF LIKE TWO RULES HE HAS. HOW IS THAT HARD TO FUCK UP? JUST MAKE A BATMAN WHO IS GROWLING AND DOES DETECTIVE SHIT AND DOESN'T KILL ANYONE. WHAT THE FUCK, DC. COME ON.

I cannot watch any more of this schlock, even to make fun of it. I don't want to know how they'll ruin Flash. He'll probably be super self serious and cut a guys arm off or something.

Every major character in this movie is fucking retarded except Alfred and Wonder Woman.
And even her actions are questionable.

Firstly, the dust hasn't settled.
Secondly, not everyone agrees it was pretty good.
Thirdly, you're never going to get "everyone" to agree that it was even years from now. That's not how subjectivity works and all entertainment is subjective.

But other then that, carry on.
It's not like anything you could say or do would ever possibly change someone's opinion on the film, especially over the Internet, so ultimately the only person's time you're choosing to waste here is your own.

Alfred was so fucking good in this and so underutilized.

If by that you mean they failed to properly interpret even a fraction of the source material and thus failed as a movie, then yeah, sure, I guess so.

Alright, a question. I haven't seen it and most likely won't for a variety of reasons.

But why does Batman get these prophetic dreams? Why does he get a dream within a dream, with Flash time travelling back INTO his dream?

Is there any explanation for this?

Overacting.

>That's the type of person who likes this movie.
The whole thing screamed of autists sitting on their hands and bouncing up and down as soon as they heard the title. That's the only people to whom that's a "big event".

Jesus Christ, no.

>Why does he get a dream within a dream, with Flash time travelling back INTO his dream?
I'm gonna guess it's foreshadowing Flash saving the day in Infinite Crisis by running faster than ever before, well into plaid speed, and he starts popping through time as visions, or something like it, to people, en route to dying and saving the day.
>>
>>81313988
That's obvious, but I'm asking why is Batman having these dreams. Is there a cause, or is he just randomly getting prophetic dreams, just because the plot demands it?

Is he a metahuman now, is he affected by some artifact, or are his fever dreams accurate out of pure coincidence?

Is there an explanation for why he gets the dreams, is what I wanna know.
>>
>>81313326
I don't think it's a dream. I believe it to be a repressed memory from a future that did happen. Where Lois died and Superman went under the influence of Darkseid and now because of speed force fuckery that memory is bleeding into the present, but Bruce interprets it as a nightmare.
>>
>>81314108
He ate his twin brother in the womb.
>>
>>81314118
I mean if that's the explanation, and the dream is just sort of a side effect of the Flash trying to contact him, then ok, but then from what I've seen and read, the movie conveys the idea like fucking shit.

That explains everything

Here's how we fix it. We have to Days of Future Past it.

Justice League is a set up for doomsday who ressurects Superman as a crony and it follows Injustice. Batman Elseworlds the fun correct Justice League to take him down. They succeed and go back to their world which is what Justice League 2 follows. Problem solved.

>>81314271
It's a Snyder movie. Half the fun is trying to make it sound smarter than it actually is.
>>
>>81314318
They send Flash back in time to tell Pa Kent:
>DON'T TELL HIM TO DROWN CHILDREN YOU DUMB FUCK
>ALSO CAREFUL WITH THE HORSES

All is well with the world afterwards.

>He ate his twin brother in the womb.
Eh, what the hell. I'll go along with this.

I thought it was a red-hot shitpile of a film.

>Heroes aren't heroic, act in defiance of decades of established character
>Main villain also goes against his previous characterizations, though there are arguments that it's a different guy, so ??
>Main villain adds little to the plot, his plan doesn't make any sort of sense
>Wonder Woman's limited side plot made no sense, existed to set up the rest of the characters.
>Heroic sacrifice was dumb as hell

You can't throw a rock without hitting a plot hole. Rumor has it there's 30 minutes of cut footage, and apparently it's all the good bits.
>>
>>81310973
that's not the point
what we get through the movie is a sublimation of batman's despair
batman himself begins to hope
superman wants to be a symbol of hope
superman by the end fully becomes one
this plays on what is the normal association of the characters. batman/fear superman/hope batman overcomes his fear and superman overcomes his doubt
