Oh, it gets better. Because of the original sin, all mankind is doomed to an eternity of unbelievable suffering unless they meet his standards. His standards are so arbitrary that almost nobody can ever meet them. So, after a lifetime of jumping through hoops in hopes of pleasing this being of pure evil, you still have about a 99.9999999% chance of still spending eternity suffering alongside the world's worst sinners and if you manage to meet his standard, then you spend eternity worshiping him and telling him that he's great. Sure you have free will but you aren't allowed to actually use it or you'll suffer a horrendous fate. There is no other being in fiction that's as unfair and unreasonable as this God but people still line up to kiss his ass for the extremely remote chance that they'll be deemed good enough to be a slave for all eternity and suffer a completely different type of hell than what awaits the unworthy.

That always confused me about monotheistic religions who have separate names for the word "god" and what their god is actually called.
Like you have "god" for the term of a deity and then in Christianity you have "God" where their god is named God because it would be redundant for him to have any other name since by the religion's own admission there's only one in the universe. Same thing with Islam. Allah is the name of their god but it's also the exact same term to refer to any deity in other religions in Arabic.
Then you have this (and other religions) where there's the catch all word for a god and then their religion has a different name to set him apart. It seems really redundant.

Some of those things my mom does and it doesn't really peeve them off or anything.
If she doesn't attend as often with me and my sis, one or two start asking about it. I don't find them bad (or cult like), but the way they treat my mom over not attending as much is annoying.
Glad she doesn't bother as much, but getting her to be more open minded is a challenge.

Weigh your choices. Be unhappy your entire life in a cult you know is fucking innocent and vulnerable people over and their kids the same way you've been, never ever being able to call them out on their bullshit. That's a 100% if you stay there. If you take the risk you'll probably have a bumpy start but things will most likely work out eventually. Even if things aren't perfect you can still actually try to improve your life unlike now and in all likelyhood things will be fine after a while if you go out and socialize.

Some Jehovah's Witnesses came to my house a while ago and I was kind of tired, and thought if I took some of their literature they'd go away. Not even once. If you come across as anything short of outright dismissive then you may as well roll out a "Jehovah's Witnesses Welcome" banner over your door.
On a side note, the literature ended up in my waste basket with all my used fap tissues.
