Agreed completely. Batman using the sonics against Superman in a live action film was amazing too. I NEVER in a million years thought they'd ever do this.
>>
Even though Batman straight-up murdered a bunch of dudes, with guns no less, I still feel like this is my favorite film Batman.

Is there a decent camrip out now?

Go to the cinema and give DC your 25 bucks, fuckhead.

Where the hell do you go to watch movies dude? Three tickets to a first day IMAX showing in a massive luxury theater cost me $60. To see it at my local theater in standard def would have only cost $11. $9 if I brought my student ID.

Affleck's Batman legitimately scares me.

You have no idea how long I have wanted that from a cinematic Batman.
>>
>>81261976
Why does he scare you? Are you a criminal?

Why would you be scared of Batman? Unless you're selling crack outta your basement you got nothing to worry about.
>>
>>81261476
That's because the movie is 50% GOAT and 50% dogshit. The good parts are unbelievably good and the bad parts are ridiculously bad. That's why people that say that is bad and people that say that is good are both usually right.
>>
Did he crawl on the ceiling on the way out at this scene?
>>
>>81261410
If nothing else, they got Batman visually right in this film, and I'm hopeful for Affleck's later turns as the character.

>>
>>81262521
What parts are bad? All I've heard is "muh editing" and it seemed fine to me. Meme Lex was an attempt at recreating the Joker but for Superman, and it was a success to some extent.
>>
>>81262747
The editing complaint is fair, although even knowing about it beforehand, it didn't really jump out at me like I thought it would. Aside from that, I saw nothing seriously wrong with that movie. I have no idea why it got shit on so heavily.
>>
>>81261410
I lost my shit when he almost got the other cop killed with his show off.
>>
>>81262599
Nah he got shot but dodged and zip lined out through a small hole in the roof real spooky like
>>
>>81261410
That is the first time I have ever seen the old 'hide in the roof/corner' maneuver fail to work.

That's right, the legendary Batman messed up the most reliable hiding technique in all of film.
>>
>>81263236
Or maybe the Gotham cops are actually good at their job after Gordon whipped them into shape. Maybe life without Batman wasn't so bad after he went into retirement.
>>
Yeah this was a really great scene
>>
>>81262091
>>81262183
Batman should be scary you faggots!
>>
>>81263056
Beyond the editing, I think that the main complaints were character motivations were unclear ( I got them pretty fine, but Lex's especially was very easy to miss which is a misstep on the part of the filmmakers) and that story wise there are too many confusing diversions that seem to go nowhere.

The Flash cameo is especially this, I feel; you have to remember that most people watching aren't comic fans and have no idea what that scene was about.

Beyond that, the rest of the complaints are tonal/pacing, I think.

Alfred hints that Bruce had a code before and the ending implies that he'll go back to it. Plus, after Robin's death and Bruce feeling powerless compared to Superman, I can accept it.

I still didn't like it though, so hopefully they'll drop that in the future. Even in BvS it wasn't necessary, other than to give an easy mode for Snyder.
>>
>>81262747
I almost walked out on Lex's speech. When he does the "HA..heh" My second-hand embarrassment was too much.

>>
>>81264723
It would be very hypcritical to go back to his code now.

>I don't kill people anymore. It's bad. What? No i'm not going to jail for it Superman.
>>
>>81264723

Well, now he can't go back to killing, because he's going up against the Joker in Suicide Squad, and he has a new franchise to worry about. Can't go around just off-handedly killing villains there, either.

So, yeah, it's still a shitty thing to do to the character, but it's still overshadowed by everything the movie got right about the character.

What I find especially frustrating was that the biggest scene that this is a problem, is also an unnecessary, and out of character, scene. Why would Batman go in, literally guns blazing, to try to steal the Kryptonite from the smugglers, when he could've just Batmaned into Lexcorp and steal it there (which is what he ended up doing).

The scene where he kills all those mooks is completely unnecessary, and could be lifted directly out of the movie without it suffering at all. Just figure out some other way to have Superman threaten him.

Killing the mook that was threatening Ma Kent is a different story. I think you could've played it either as Batman feeling justified in the act because fuck that guy, or you could've played it as Batman being horrified at what he's done, but knowing that this is neither the time nor the place to freak out.
>>
This movie had so many amazing scenes it's impossible to pick a favorite, but this scene is definitely up there.

that spoiler you're referring to he doesn't actually enact the effects of the other person's actions. he takes aware their ability to do what they wanted to do, they chose to continue anyway and what happens is symbolic

i was shocked at how much i just thought of him as a just a guy he's not physically exceptional in any way, which could further the point of what he's after and why and his relationship to superman

>Smart enough to be both a business man and a scientist
>Can't stand Superman because he can't live with the thought there's someone better than him
>Merciless
>Cunning
>Petty as shit

There's no doubt that they should have dialed down the crazy at time, but I thought he worked well as a younger Luthor, excentric and hyper extraverted. I could see him become more reserved later down the road

This is probably one of the big problems of the movie. I didn't like Batman killing because he probably had a code before and will regain it LATER. Superman killed Zod, so LATER he will become the Superman that we know. Lex was okay for a young version, and he can get better LATER.
I feel like I'm forgiving Snyder for a lot of things because I can see him correct it later. He doesn't deserve that good will.
>>
>>81262747
The scene of Bruce's parents dying was good. It did not need to be flashed back to. Wonder Woman checking her email probably shouldn't have been right as Superman was going to confront Batman, it deflated the tension. The dream sequence scenes were individually cool, but there were just too many of them and Flash was confusing to the casual audience.
>>81264918
The scene were Batman fights all those nooks was one of tr best in the movie. It would have suffered if that scene were cut.
>>
>>81265340

So show him Batmaning into LexCorps instead. That way, we both win.
>>
>>81265044

I don't get this comparison. He didn't come off as Joker-ish to me at all. He takes himself far too seriously to be the Joker.

Riddler, I could definitely see.
>>
I enjoyed this movie greatly. But my only gripes are the editing which has been pointed out enough already and the whole Ma Kent being the draw for Superman to finally go after Batman. I was hoping for something a little more organic and Lex playing more of a background role instead of confronting Superman in Metropolis.

he throws pictures down, superman bends down to pick them up then lex shows superman the reality of the situation; he's kneeling down before lex who has taken power over superman

It was pretty obvious they wanted Heath Ledgers Joker in this. Him talking about daddy issues, the way he move around, and hell even the way they did Lex's hair all went back to Ledger's Joker.

It's very difficult to make a movie for both the retarded normies as well as the people that don't have below average IQs. I think the flashback to the death of Martha Wayne as well as the tombstone were for normies who would say "huh?" when Batman freaks out over Superman saying Martha. De-escalating tension right before a big moment is something that many shows and movies do well, and I think this one did it well too.

The dream sequences may have been confusing at first, but an average viewer should become well-adjusted after thinking about it for a second. I think there were maybe 2 or 3 dreams? I can't remember any except Knightmare and Flash right now sorry. One of my buddies is a huge casual when it comes to comics, and even he understood the Flash dream. I think it just comes to intelligence and paying attention to the movie. Like I said, I don't really know how to reach an equilibrium in terms of implications to smart and dumb audiences and it looks like Snyder was trying hard to reach out to both at the same time. Should he have just killed off the casual audience and focused more on the fans maybe?
>>
>>81269834
Sorry, I meant Batman using it. After years of "muh realism" I became disillusioned and thought he'd never get cool gadgets like in the comics.

I honestly disagree. Lex shouldn't be pathetic or weak or anything like that. Lex, in my opinion, at least, should be the 'Peak Human', the best humanity should have to offer. Like, greek-statue-that-goes-to-MIT kinda shit.

Because that just drives the Envy home even more. Lex has everything, Lex is everything any human would want to be, and what any human could ever hope to normally achieve, and even he feels threatened and insecure by the presence of Superman.
