I feel like I don't "get" Nightwing.
There are so many people who say they love Dixon's run and how he made Dick one of their favorite characters of all time, but I read through a good chunk of it and couldn't feel much more than "yeah this is pretty ok."

The thing is I enjoy him fine when he comes back to Gotham and interacts with the rest of the Bat Family, it's just when he's on his own that I feel like his stories become boring.
It doesn't hold up very well imo, though I guess it's also one of the first times we see Dick really live an adult, separate life in modern times. Before that he was on a team or featured kind of primarily as Bruce's sidekick, so it's great for that alone.
But if I were trying to introduce someone into Dick Grayson in this time now, I'm giving them the Nu-52 Nightwing to Grayson run rather than Dixon's. It's gonna work better.

I guess Outsider Dick fits somewhere on that scale but I haven't read it. I've heard good things though!

Dixon's run is kind of that mediocre that you want for a solo if you can't give it a GOAT run. It's not going to win you over or anything but if you like the concept you'll probably enjoy it.
