It's an older thing, actually. Since at least when Sam Alexander became Nova; I remember they released one with him.
Nowadays it's more or less in the background. It was meant to be Marvel's answer to DC's blooming digital comics division. DC even tried their hand at Infinite comics with DC^2 (DC Squared, I think), but that didn't last too long.
On another note, Marvel also announced plans for digital comics that utilized dynamic soundtracks that would change seamlessly when reading stories. That literally never happened.
