So apparently Disney is taking surveys regarding the blu-ray release for Zootopia. There will be a 3-disc 3D version and a 2-disc 2D version. The survey also seems to be gauging interest for Target-exclusive extras like exclusive deluxe packaging, and a bonus disc with additional features an a Fashion Police parody. So that would basically be a 4-disc Target exclusive version.

you need a 3D tv for that, though personally, I recommend that if you can get enough cash together, you can get some damn nice 3D projectors for the price of a cheaper 4K tv. if you're serious about the 3D element, a projector is just about the best way to go.
>>81238300
That seems to be the case. I saw the movie earlier today and there were kids in the theater and they just went nuts during that nudist part. Giggling and gasping like crazy every time one of the animals bent over or something.
>>81238546
Thanks
>>81238473
I doubt the movie was ever rendered above 2k, most aren't.
4k dci is like four times the amount of pixels to render and they already need a herculean render farm to do these movies.
>>81238468
I know the feeling. I bought a couple of film box sets in blu-ray because it was cheap as fuck, maybe I'll take my time to buy more stuff I like. Though, I wonder, would it be possible to render a movie with a program that works like seti@home, using people's peraonal computers?
You know, Nick kinda reminds me of this other Nick (pic related). Think about it:
>in his early-mid 30s
>conman
>cynical

as far as I understand, everything in the film exists as physical objects as far as the computers are concerned. >>81238908
It's already been done. I can't remember the name of the project or what it runs on (BOINC?) but I think it distributes Blender renders.
The big problem isn't rendering power but bandwidth. Even a single frame would absolutely destroy bandwidth once uploading begins, and there are at least 155520 frames in that movie anyway.
>>81238635
I'm pretty sure a 4K render is what most digital cinemas are running now anyway. All that remains is creating an H.265 render (which would take fucking eons because of how unoptimized it is) with new color grading because muh rec.2020.
>>81239094
Clawhauser is fat
Coach is built, he's what a muscular guy looks like past his late 40s
>>81239014
> Each completed shot then went into rendering on a "render farm" of 117 Sun Microsystems computers that ran 24 hours a day.[37] Finished animation emerged in a steady drip of around three minutes a week.

>>81239146
>>81239173
Ah, true.
>>81239042
The real problem is that the sheer time it would take to re-render means they'd have to buy or rent something else to do all their other projects on, since other movies in the pipeline can't just sit around while they take the time to pump out a marginally nicer looking version of an already-completed movie.
>>81238725
for what? a bunch of people on 4chan who want to pirate the 4k rip to make better reaction images?

Tell yah hwat, I'll go ask the projectionist/engineer/manager dude at my local cinema if he knows what the resolution of the digital copy he got sent are. He's pretty chill.
Plus, 4K will sell more BluRays. It's inevitable they will release one if only to capitalize on future sales. They could just backburner the render for when the farms aren't in use. It'll drip out eventually.
>>81239312
Disney Animation uses a completely custom program, I think it's called CAPS, designed by Pixar. They just keep improving it every year - Frozen had a completely new way of generating snow, Zootopia had completely new fur dynamics. SFM would be an ironic joke in comparison.

I am still amazed at how much detail was put into the characters. Even the simplest things like Nick's tie knot being one of the laziest one you could possibly make because that fits what he would actually do, and then clearly taking pride in his uniform at the end with everything in its' exact proper position, showing he got back his childhood integrity with the sense of purpose that finally belonging to a pack (the ZPD) he'd desired so much brings.

They died during the whole scene, and also in another movie (I forget which) with that as the trailer.
>>81240597
Mine was packed and it caused the biggest laughs of the entire movie.
>>81240565
Based anon, you're doing gods work.Don't suppose anyone knows a britfag-friend substitute?
>>81240597
My theatre had people full of laughter. There were a lot of kids there, sure, but it was mostly adults.
>>81238157
I love that comic
>>81240597
Yeah, everyone did actually, particularly when his jaw dropped.
>>81240603
POTTERY
>>81240597
Everybody laughed in mine, and they laughed just as hard at the traffic stop.
>>81240305
That color looks awful on regular people. It looks fine on Nick because he's orange.
>>81240597
My theater laughed, and so did thegirlI invited to see it with me.
>>81240597
Everyone laughed.
I saw the trailer a half dozen or more times before the movie and was glad it hadn't been the whole scene verbatim so there were new little bits to it.
My favorite joke of the movie though was the scene with Yax and the elephant yoga instructor.
>>81240597
I laughed at almost everything in the movie, the only other person in the theater that said or did anything was a woman that came with her kids, who during the scene where Judy gets home from her first day said 'Aww, poor bunny'.
I thought it was cute
>>81240565
>>81239686
Well it got deleted again!
Mod is being especially tetchy tonight, Kryten.
>>81240712
>Grill
Sure you did buddy.
>>81240597
My theater was empty aside from me and a kid with his dad. There was not even a chuckle to be heard.
>>81240597
Pretty sure everybody in my theater was laughing during that scene, but it was only half-full.
But when that scene played in the trailer before Star Wars, it was the loudest I've ever heard a theater laugh.
>>81240783
I swear it's true, anon--cross my heart.
>>81240597
They laughed so hard the whole world trembled, from invoking ancient gods buried deep aeons ago.
>>81240712
>girl
uh-hu
Think they'll be any Moana info on the DVD and Blu-Ray?
>>81240712
Surely you meanyour Sister
I have no clue why the mods are deleting this, but for Nick:

>>81240597
Most of the times half of the people in my theater were cracking up at that scene, sometimes silently but one could tell. The last time I saw it, everyone was laughing like crazy and exploded at the ending scene.

Zootopia is 2K.
>>81240706
Huh, Come to think of it, you might be right, although, Nick does have quite a large patch of skin-colored fur right around his chin and neck, and it compliments it rather well.
>>81240825
We all know anon.
>>81240843
This guy gets it.
>>81240912
That is the ugliest shirt I've ever seen
>>81240843
>>81240867
No, a real girl!
>>81239585
CAPS is for 2D Animations. For their 3D Movies they are just using the normal Maya/Houdini combo. WDAS has their own renderer (Hyperion) and a MPM/Fluid simulation system (i.e. for Snow) though.
>>81240943
Where did you find that?
>>81240992
Yeah, my sister is a real girl too, but I wouldn't brag about seeing the movie with her
>>81240565
>>81240912
Nothing was hotpocketed.Yet.
>>81240992
He's actually defending that it's a real girl

Oh thank god. For a second I thought a bunch of strangers on the internet didn't believe me.
>>81239302
>6 weeks from now
>Orlando, FL newspapers carry a story about a fat, filthy autist who got arrested at Disney World
>He spent all day watching the Judy actor from a distance, then ran up and jumped into her arms as she was about to shake hands with a five year old.
>Started kissing the mask and telling her to "make him a real fox."
>It's one of 15 similar news stories in the same edition
>because it's Florida
>>81240992
Please tell me you didn't bring your waifu pillow.
>>81241041
I don't have a sister--those things are a myth.
>>81240597
You know, I actually kinda feel bad about not having the opportunity to see it in theaters now that I think about this. There's something about sharing laughs with other people in attendance that I really enjoy
>>81241050
Literally
> Zootopia 2
> Judy died a year ago and Nick is now a loose cannon cop who doesn't play by the rules
> Gets partnered with an older by the book Racoon
> They become best friends by the movie's end
>>81241081
/co/ should invent a superhero named Florida Man and have people draw him doing all of these things
>>81241089
I may be lonely, but I'm not that lonely.
>>81241089
300-1 that's what he means
>he didn't bring his sister to watch Zootopia
>Not making out during the concert scene
holy shit lol
>>81240861
How do we still know next to nothing about Moana and it comes out in 8 months? Dolls looks nice though, I'm glad they switched to Hasbro
>>81241081
>>81241177
>Racoon

>Riggs

The Force Awakens got the sloth scene trailer starting from opening night. Huge numbers of people saw it. And yet it still gets audience chuckles even today.
>>81241330

Does anyone like Shakira's song?
>>81241346
