the only thing that could've made it stronger would've been if we had known the gems involved.
Steven and the gems manage to overthrow the hierarchy of gemworld, the caste system is dissolved, and Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl and Peridot decide to return. They now view Steven as an adult, and tell him that part of being an adult is making sacrifices for your own personal well-being. He can choose to go with them to this new, unknown world, or stay on earth with all the friends he's made. There is no wrong answer. Steven decides to stay, there's a big teary goodbye, then later they are able to reactivate the transporters between earth and gemworld and now Steven can live happily on earth and still visit the gems whenever he wants.
