ITT: Television networks that suddenly, unexpectedly became very shitty the moment humanity entered 2006

I don't know.
>>

Not OP, but it's been in ownership of Viacom since 06. Nick started getting horrible the second MTV had their grubby mitts on it, surprise surprise :^)
>>
>>81223223
I would've said CN, but the bullshit happened in '09.
>>
>>81224958
Nick has been owned by Mtv since the 90s
>>
>>81224528
High school musical debuted to record breaking numbers and a billion dollar profit was made from a very cheap made-for-tv movie featuring a cast of kid nobodies. So every kids network poured their money into live action adaptions trying to get a chunk of that change.

Weird, I thought everything went bad in 2005. Late 90's-2004 was the best era and then everything went to shit.

What went wrong?
>>
>>81225375

I think that anon is just trolling. No one could be that stupid. The ironic emoticon gives it away.
>>
Who cares? Television is dead. Everything is internet and Netflix now.

I wish there was another mainstream channel or some Netflix-tier thing for animation. Nick is incompetent and relies on Dan the Man Schneider too much, Disney Channel hates cartoons and simply wants the tween girl audience, and Cartoon Network is a fat female paradise. "Adult" cartoons also suffer badly as most of them of just edgy shitcoms with an x-twist full of mediocre writing and shit artstyles. Youtube is also bad since they changed their algorithms and screwed over internet animators. Why does the west hate animation so much? Will it ever be saved?
>>
>>81226516

Blame Walt Disney, Hanna-Barbera, and Matt Groening for that.

Cyma Zarghami became president of Nick and replaced all the old shows with endless Spongebob reruns
>>
>>81226211
What went wrong in 2005? I personally think that shit fell apart in 08.
>>
>>81226211
Catscratch came out in 2005 so that year definitely wasn't the problem.

Looking at this list, what do you feel was Nick's "deathbed year"?

2007.
That's when that new bitch came and cancelled all airing Nick shows except for Avatar and Spongebob.

When they decided they're just going to milk Spongebob until Tom Kenny's throat finally gives out from all that screaming.

I know i'm being autistic about a one year difference, but she took over in 06 actually
>>
Is it me or has there been one guy constantly posting on here and /tv/ about how everything suddenly turned to shit from 2006 onwards?

I think it's the same guy who posts those "2000s Nostalgia (2000-2005 only) threads.
>>
>>81229875
oops my mistake
>>
>>81229789
it's honestly amazing how abysmal ytv has become. Even the general image of the channel and bumpers are completely lifeless
>>
>>81229785
2007 was when the network was bleeding to death and it finally died in 2008.
>>
>>81229902
Like I said, 2008. That was when we committed seppuku as a nation.
>>
>>81229902
That's like saying everyone on /v/ who thinks things went downhill in 2007 (Big bang theory, iPhone release) is the same person.

It just happens to be a very popular opinion that social media and "nerd culture" ruined the world.

There was literally a thread about this with the exact post and picture yesterday, and the exact post and picture in the Loud House thread.

I cant fathom what benefit people on co get from anti-Nick shilling so hard but it happens often enough to just be tiresome at this point

It's neither of those.

There's one poster who keeps posting "everything after 2006 sucks" in the exact same format.

Look at these: https://desustorage.org/co/search/text/%2200s%20nostalgia%22

http://archive.4plebs.org/tv/search/text/%2200s%20nostalgia%22/

It's fucking creepy how it's all the same.

Disney is basically the only network that actually makes good cartoons anymore. A few cartoon network and adult swim shows are exceptions to the rule.

Loud House looks promising, no?

Yeah but I mean, this thread was so exactly like ones Ive seen just yesterday that it's like anon is reposting it because nobody agreed with him last time

?

You make money by the amount of time people watched the video instead of views, why do you think you don't see that many animators on youtube anymore?

I just wasn't even aware such a change even happened

>>81224958
Pretty much all of Viacom has fallen into this hole of shit tier shows marathoned for cheap ratings.

Nearly all their channels are repeating either some kind of reality show, old 90's shows/movies, or have just completely shifted formats from what the channel claims it is supposed to be.

Like Vh1 still pretending they are in some way a music related channel.

And how quickly too. It used to be a cool network for young people in general, now it's terrible live-action shows sandwiched between FoP and Spongebob reruns.

I feel like Hanna Barbara would have done this in the 70's.

Only 90's kids know the pain of seeing current zombie Nickelodeon and remembering their good old days. And then wishing that some day they too will go to Nickelodeon Studios in Florida.

Now Nick is making rehashes of 80's shows, and bringing back their past successful shows and constantly reminding both viewers and themselves that they used to be cool with shit like The Splat.
