Is Nickelodeon dying?
>>
>Nickelodeon

You mean the Spongebob Network?
>>
>>81223077
It died a long time ago anon.
>>
>>81223077
this is seriously sad
>>
>>81223146
Let me put it like this, is it getting close of being shut down?
>>
>>81223077
you can't kill whats already dead OP
>>
episodes of kung fu panda are still being made?
>>
>>81223146
OH NO
NOT ME
I NEVER LOST CONTROL
>>
>>81223206
Has it already become a demon?
>>
When did it get so bad, like seriously? How did the network that produced ATLA get so low?
>>
>>81223077

There's a hour of different shows in there. Hell, I'm pretty sure that's legitimately less Spongebob than what they were running with a few years ago.

Anybody have that Son of the Bronx screenshot of Nick's fifty highest rated shows for a week where something like forty-seven of them were Spongebob episodes?
>>
>>81223225
>>81223077
>all that Spongebob

Fucking hell, what happened to all their cartoons?
>>
This is why we have to support you animated shows on Nickelodeon. Otherwise Nickelodeon only in SpongeBob and more those live-action comedy shows.
>>
It's looked that way for the past... I don't know, 8 years? At least 5. It's on Sponge Bobâ„¢ brand life support.
>>
>>81223445
They drove them away. Seriously. Look at what they did to Legend of Korra
>>
>>81223268
ATLA was that reason.

But really, it died when they fired John K, if they did fire him we could of got the Ghibli of the west but instead it is rotting.
>>
Is this real...?
>>
>>81223583
Yes.
>>
>>81223602
And it wasn't like a special marathon day or anything?

I mean is there ANY context that I'm missing here?
>>
>>81223549
>firing someone who intentionally delayed production of episodes
If that isn't a good reason, you would make a fucking terrible executive
>>
>>81223608
It's just what they do now. Hell you can go to their website right now and see for yourself
>>
A lot of the people I know who don't watch cartoons much love Spongebob and like that it's nearly always on to watch.
>>
>>81223618
>Delayed production
That only happened once with Stimpy's Invention because of a joke.

Late episodes did not become a thing until the Games episodes, Spumco episodes were almost always on time.

Well nick jr. has always been around. Here's the stuff after that

It's probably worst on weekends
>>
>>81223225
It's really sad looking at this because Nickelodeon has some cartoons I'm genuinely interested but I'll never watch the channel. I don't see the appeal in sitting through 3 hour blocks of Spongebob reruns and if I were to watch them online I'd rather spend that time with shows I'm already invested in.
>>
>>81223077
God dam, teen titans go better step up there game
>>
>>81223181
Probably not. It has lots of live action pedo sitcoms, as well as some new cartoons coming up
>>
>>81223690
Their website is definitely better than CN and Disney, but yeah, no scroll is stupid
>>
Its got nothing good anymore.

Seriously nothing worth watching on nickelodeon

As a cable network, definitely. But more because its parent company and cable television itself are on their way out.
It will probably linger as a brand, become some sort of streaming service.

Delaying a single episode because of some joke seems indicative of behavior I would not want in an employee.

To be fare John K is on par to Rod Scribner when Hayao Miyazaki is the Chuck Jones of the east.
>>81224579
Bryke did much worse.

I don't know? Are they even airing TMNT because it's not on that schedule.

I'm fairly sure it used to be worse earlier. We had a couple of threads like this long ago and I went to look at that schedule page, and they had an insane amount of Spongebob lined up in there whenever I took a look. They seem to have changed their scheduling since then.
>>
>>81224862

WHat happened to it?
>>
Just letting you know those reruns of spongebob get better ratings than your favorite show
>>
>>81225073
Season 3-4 happened. Shipping / love triangle bs, boring farm episodes, time travel bs, parallel dimensions bs, earth destruction bs etc.
>>
>>81225036
judging it on three points

1) the animation

2/10, clearly done it a style to save budget

2) relation to source

5/10 the characters feel dull in comparison but i think that's mainly from the art style. It doesn't stay true enough or differentiate itself enough to be memorable or significant.

3) actual plot
i thought it was thinly veiled, a lot lighter but also a lot more extreme in terms of sexuality and passive violence (like Donatello almost killing raph or whatever it was without repercussion)

Of course my view isnt definite, I just personally dislike. I didn't expect much and it delivered little.
>>
>>81223077
Reminder this is old. They've mostly reverted to their live action bullshit, I think Nicktoons has spongebob reruns even less too.

Don't blame spongebob entirely anymore, this is outdated.

They do have days where they marathon it but it isn't like TTG right now.
>>
>>81223827
I hate the title of that shit Alvin show. You can tell they based the title on how I don't even know his name yells Alvin's name when he is mad at him, but they stretched the wrong letters. It should be AAAALVIN!!!

It is a horrible show regardless.
>>
>>81223225

pajeet and snek is still airing?
>>
>>81223077

Cartoon Network used to be like this, only with Scooby Doo instead of Spongebob. It'll chug along and change.
>>
>>81226354
>It should be AAAALVIN!!!

That's the opposite emphasis. The stretch comes at the end, not at the beginning. It'd probably work better as ALVIIIIN!
>>
>>81224996
>2k12 is worse than Next Mutation

>>
>>81226461
Cartoon Network is still like this, oonly with Teen Titans Go
>>

You guys probably know this already, but Nick shot themselves in the head back in early 2006 - 10 whole years ago -, when Cyma zarghami became president.

Soon enough, she cancelled all the 90s-early 2000s shows, treated shows like Jenny the waifu, Chalkzone, and Avatar badly, replacing them with Flash, CGI, soft porn tweencoms, and endless post-movie Spongebob. Also, the network seemed to lose the "chill", comfy feeling it had when shows like Hey arnold were on.

Farewell, old Nick
>>
I'm still disappointed I've never found a Youtube vid of someone playing the Spongebob theme song while scrolling through the number of times it's on per day. I'll bet it's been at least as many times as they sing the name for a while.
>>
>>81223445
What cartoons?

Christ I don't even think they do syndicated reruns of ATLA or LOK anymore.
>>
>>81223077
People use this and TTGo as examples, but they forget, kids networks are based on kids, so for school hours they often post filler.

So really nick is just spngebib heavy not spongebob ruled
>>

You can fuck right off
If anything people that defend nickelodeon are the true shills. It went from having some of the best cartoons on tv to having nothing but hot fucking garbage
Name a show that they have made in the last 3 or 4 years that wasnt hot garbage
>>
>>81229846
STOP
>>
>>81232208
People like Harvey Beaks and I caught it's premiere one night after having a fucking nightmare and turning on the TV.

It was surprisingly decent, but /co/ has kinda fucked it up as le comfy cartoon! like We Bare Bears, which in turn is decent on it's own, just nothing to get excited about (well, I was for a couple episodes to an extent but I was bored too)

So HB is pretty decent, it's just not as good/popular as the other cartoons talked about on here.

Oh god, you had to remind me of that place.
I went there once when I was little kid. We all went on this tour where they showed us how they came up with the games for the show and we got to taste slime.
The green slime tasted like chocolate pudding. I got two spoonfuls. It was magic.
Now it's just...that building. Great.

I only ever saw the magical place a couple times on TV.

Nick used to be the coolest company in the world from a kid's perspective, shame they had to throw it away.
>>
>>81232060
This isn't /v/ where every company and fanbase is very close to each other in the shittieness they are. Nickelodeon is considered by pretty much any animation fan to be currently leagues worse than Cartoon Network or Disney.
>>
>>81232535
It's like the game industry, where the big companies are ready and willing to burn away all of their years of trust, quality content and consumer good will just to make a quick buck.

It's being dropped from cable packages like othet Viacom networks

Last I checked Spongebob is now making abysmal ratings even as the highest rated show on the network. TTG is beating it.

>>81234599

Wow, I honestly had no idea. That's somewhat scary.

>>81234599

Yeah I'm thinking weekends are likely the worst. Weekdays tend to play a bigger demographic game that the weekends.

Hell Cartoon Network is worse on the weekends as well as it tends to play only Gumball, SU, and TTG on Saturday until the evening, the do reruns of the episodes they played on Saturday on Sunday. lol

>I mean we ran that FoP KfP test last week and nobody really bit so I guess throw some spongebob in there.
