Great movie, both a little overrated by fans and far too unappreciated by everyone else.
Stellar CGI and art direction, pretty memorable moments, filled with references to a bunch of other films and the humor isn't terrible.
I never saw the visuals as uncanny but I can't say the same for most other people I know who've seen it.also Beans has got some mighty fine dick-suckin' lips

it's also a western, one of the best genres to ever be depicted on film.

The problem isn't the way the characters look but that they are not already in 2D which means that people are not sure how to translate their designs into 2D to look appealing.
Reminds me of the best of Looney Tunes; low brow humor presented in a very high brow way. Depp also does a really good Don Knots impression.

Surprisingly good. The initial advertising turned me off to it but I eventually got bored and gave it a watch and was pleasantly surprised.
I didn't think it was the masterpiece most of /co/ hails it as, but still a very nice and fresh animated western.

The hair was a necessary trapping of the farmer's daughter character type. There have to be certain concessions in the face of realism to facilitate the structure of the story. It's a western fantasy, if we apply too much logic it becomes science fiction.
