What was the general consensus around these parts about the Deadpool movie?
Someone told me it reminded them too much of Daniel Way's interpretation.
It was good
It took a bit of Daniel Way but nothing too frustrating. It was a good movie but nothing special in any way and not worth a rewatch.

It was pretty fucking good, one of the best comic book/superhero themed movies I have seen in a while. Reynolds' performance was top-fucking-notch.
But knowing /co/, give it a few weeks/months and this place is gonna call it an irredeemable piece of shit and one of the worst comic book movies of all time.

The action comedy was great the jokes were hit and miss but the good ones were great. Loved the suit and Colossus with Negasonic. Origin was accurate..oh and BOB
Story outside origin felt cheap and safe, almost geared to noobs. Boring Uninteresting villains. Cringe core dialogue b/w Reynolds and love interest. Would of killed to see Cable.

Well, not really? It totally got the spirit of it, but the details are different. It's not Weapon X, there's no connection to Wolverine. The whole idea of the latent mutant gene, that's new. The scars being a side effect of his powers and his cancer being cured, as opposed to his cancer not being cured and the scars being the results of his cancer still doing it's best to kill him but not being able to due to his powers.

as a movie it was pretty good. not the best superhero flick, but pretty good
purely based on casting, it was 10/10, pretty much every choice was perfect, and Reynolds is now to Deadpool what Robert Downey Jr is to Iron Man, synonymous with the character
