Neither are "real" actors or have much experience in it, so they are really attached to their characters and the show since it was the first and in Karas case only big production they've gotten to be so involved in.
Don't get me wrong, Lindsay loves Ruby and the show, but she's more focused on her own projects like X-Ray and Vav and was already doing acting stuff prior to RT so it's a bit different for her.
