>all these reviews citing Gadot's weak performance
What does this mean for the WW movie? Will WB freak out like they did with Green Lantern?
>>
I thought Gadot's Wonder Woman was received overwhelmingly positively, and held up as one of the movie's saving graces?

Anyway, she's clearly going to be carried by her co-stars in the movie.

You guys should've recognized the warning sights, her solo movie may be alright but she shouldn't have been in BvS in any form.

Did you ever consider that maybe you're wrong?

there is 0% chance this movie was as bad as Green Lantern. Green Lantern was a joke out of the gate.

I remember a lot of people on /co/ defending it at the time though...

OMFG A CHANCE TO RECAST!!!!

Don't scrap the film :(
JUST RECAST
>>
>>81002147

The general idea is that the movie takes itself wayyy to seriously and AGAIN plays with Jesus imagery (Batfleck is raised into the air by a flock of bats at some point, in a Jesus-like pose); and that the fights in the 3rd act are mostly gratuitous schlock with Snyder's trademark slowmo.

Basically a Man of Steel encore.

This. For all the defense force is trying to dismiss critics as just wanting marvel quips all day every day I gotta ask.

How does the critically acclaimed Nolan trilogy fit into your mindset? It was serious. It got dark. It was even kind of complex and deep.

Did it REALLY never occur to you guys that the problem was the director failing at the tone rather than the tone itself? I mean shit, that's the perfect out! You can have your serious movies still; just get a better director to do them!

DC pls, I can only get so erect.
>>
>>81002898
No, in a roundabout way Batman kills Doomsday. And Superman. See, Batman creates a kryptonite spear in order to kill Clark, but then he decides not to because Clark says his mother's name, whcih is also Bruce's mothers name, so he realizes they're the same like pottery. Then Doomsday shows up and they and Wonder Woman fight him and Batman goes "Hey I know I have a thing I was gonna use to kill Superman that we can use now!" and so they have to lure Doomsday to where the kryptonite spear is at which point Clark goes "Yo I got this" and impales both himself and Doomsday on the spear killing them both. Except Clark isn't really dead (but we're supposed to assume Doomsday is I guess)

Batman v Superman. Not only did Batman win, he did it with PREPTIME.

You forgot the age parallels.
When Clark is 13 he has a "Why shouldn't I be doing my purpose" moment with the school bus, like how young Jesus has one in the temple.

Then he does the wandering earth montage from the ages of 19 to 33, coming out as Superman as the age of, guess who Jesus.

And now? Now he dies on Good Friday. After getting pierced by a spear. Just like Jesus.

They WILL factually treat him like crap, you really want him and Pa to be that delusional in this fucking day and age?

Watchmen and 300. It made people think he's a great director to adapt comic books.

The movie doesn't explore those social ramifications at all, so it becomes a moot point. But I don't want to talk about that. I want to talk about the fact that you can and have made that little diatribe that a few dozen times already and for all your whining about the campy silly Donner movie, I actually re-watched it earlier today and you know what I realized?

It makes the exact same speech. It does the exact same "Clark I don't know what the right thing is but when people find out about you things will change" speech that you've been defending for months now as some kind of masterstroke. And it does it BETTER than Snyder did it!

He's saying that Clark doesn't act openly as a superhero and lets Zod set the tone for alien-human relations because people would shit themselves into crazed mass hysteria, rioting in the streets, with the horses eating each other and cats and dogs living together when they realize that they're not alone in the universe. As exemplified in that scene in Man of Steel where absolutely none of that happens whatsoever, but totally would, because it would in real life, because it just would fuck you.

No its not, the concern is valid in this horrific chaotic world regardless if it's confirmed or not.
That's like saying a individual airport should not have security just because nothing bad happens at it tomorrow.
>I want to talk about the fact that you can and have made that little diatribe that a few dozen times already
I really haven't man.
>and for all your whining about the campy silly Donner movie
I like the first 2... and I rarely whine about it at all unless people demand a Superman comic or movie should never ever deviate from its example even tho the entire point of remakes and re-adaptions is to do something different and new.
>that you've been defending for months now as some kind of masterstroke.
What do you even mean by masterstroke?
I brought it up because I'm sick of people lying and claiming the only reason Clark did not reveal himself was out of selfish reasons which is not the fucking case.
>And it does it BETTER than Snyder did it!
No he said it in a hopeful yearnful lookijg forward to the bright future manner.
That doesn't make it better, Mos said it as warming or cautionary statement, both are perfect valid paths to take.

I bet you think The Dark Knight Returns Superman was weak willed also while the truth is he sacrificed his own freedom so his friends could live and not be hunted down.
>>
>>81004778

It wont bomb. Bombing is when you don't make back your production cost. For DC movies to do well they actually do have to adopt the Marvel method. Critics have decided that that is how a Superhero movie should be, an action comedy

Adapting a huge chunk of what Rucka did would be for the best.

Making her an ambassador is the smartest thing DC has ever done. It shouldn't be forgotten and makes her stand out from something like Thor.

Fighting Ares first would be the way to go since you do have to introduce the gods, but I'd also set up Barbara Minerva so Cheetah could be the central villain of the sequel.

Costume is pretty much the one thing I'll give snyder that he did right and even then, that's really Wilkinson's stellar work. The high heels/raised heel is a bit much though.
>>
>>81004882
>I really haven't man.
Your posting style is too signature for you to hide behind anonymity as well as you think you're doing. Especially when you only say the same four things over and over.

None of the characterization has any basis in the movie's reality. It's just supposition that the rest of the story actively contradicts, ant yet characters don't grow or change from that contradiction. That's negative character development, and as usual, now you're going to go 'I don't see why that's a bad thing why is that a flaw".

>Critics have decided that that is how a Superhero movie should be, an action comedy

Critics still loved the Dark Knight more than any marvel movie. Have you ever considered, maybe people aren't unwilling to accept a serious superhero movie, and maybe Snyder is just terrible at making one?
>>
>>81004778

No, box office isn't the only revenue stream for these companies.

It'd take a string of very big flops like what happened in the 90s to really scare warner, at worst with this flopping they fire a bunch of executive, tsujihara and rush out a trilogy of solo batman flicks to print money.

That said I don't think it'll bomb but it'll be really interesting to see how much it drops in the second week and how much Asia likes it.
