So Captain Britain might be getting a TV series, according to a poster artist who says it's her current project.

Who has rights to Captain Britain and Excalibur?
>Yfw he's Muslim
>>80984791
Fox
>>80984791
Marvel...

Is this the third pilot that was pitched? The one that wasn't Damage Control or Most Wanted?
>not Netflix
TRASH IT
>>80984657
nice, another x-men show
>>80984657
I think it be better on Netflix.
Hmm, as much as I like Capitan Britain he's one of those characters it's easy to write badly. I'm not going to get excited until we have more details.
>>80984657
trying to make excalibur lore fit into a series. That would be entertaining if nothing else.
>revealing shit about tv shows before the networks/producers/creators
>not even anonymously
Do these people continue to get jobs after proving they cant be trusted?

AHHHHHH
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Neat. Although I'm unsure if a TV budget can do it justice. Captain Britain has just about the most extravagant lore in Marvel, it's not exactly a character driven story.

Fox retain the rights to relatives of X-Men/FF characters like Kang and Viper, but Marvel retain rights if it's a franchise in itself like Inhumans. I'd say 60/40 chance it's the latter.
Whatever it takes to get Marvel to reprint the Moore/Davis comics

>he's one of those characters it's easy to write badly
Mind clarifying a bit?
In just about every appearance I've read him in he's either a prat or a punching bag. Moore, Davis, Claremont, both pre- and post-costume change. Cornell's one of the only writers to treat him with reverence, and it came across as more than a little bland. What's a "well-written" Brian meant to be like?
What should I be reading to get hyped for this?

Alan Moore & Alan Davis' run, titled either Jasper's Warp or A Crooked World. The storyline was actually started by Dave Thorpe but most compilations begin with Moore's first issue for simplicity's sake.
Alan Davis' solo Captain Britain, often called the Captain Britain TPB since that's the only publication format it knew stateside.
Claremont & Davis' Excalibur, or the first 50-60 issues at least. It was kicked off by a one-shot I can't remember the exact name of.
The stuff before that wasn't particularly good and the stuff after isn't as iconic, but I'd be happy to provide a guide to all that too.

Captain Britain by Claremont, Moore, and Davis, then move on to Excalibur v1.
>>80998131
>Captain Britain by Claremont
I contest this suggestion.
Civil War cameo?

I hope fox own the right for CB, if marvel had the right they will have him join shield and that would be Boring, CB is better with mutant characters
>>80998739
And CB's not a mutant. Not in any way that matters.
Marvel's already starting to tiptoe into psychedelic multiverse territory, which Fox never ever will. He's better off there, Fox wouldn't know what to do with him.

Great books, seconded.
A Crooked World is great because Moore's writing an Davis' artwork improve as the story goes on.
If you're in the UK, Panini has a trade of A Crooked World including the Thorpe issues. It was part of a partworks series, but you can probably find it on Amazon or Forbidden Planet.

Do you have a copy to verify that? Because I've actually seen that locally but according to the back of the book it starts with Moore's first issue just like the yank edition.
>>80999708
Sorry anon, I was mistaken.
It beings from Marvel Super Heroes 387 with Moore and Davis.
I may have gotten mixed up with the omnibus.

Bretty cool
Let's hope it has Lionheart
>>80984795
/int/ and /pol/ would have a blast
You know, with all these properties being turned into shows, will the MCU have any more films to make?
>>80984791
Me. I won them in a Texas Hold-'Em tournament against Ike Perlmutter, Dan Didio, and Todd McFarlane. That's the kind of shit that happens when you don't have enough cash for the buy-in, Ike!
