I don't know, I'm just saying, I really want to like this show, but it looks nothing like the trailer we had, and the characters have very little meat on them and there's no development. Maybe I've been spoiled by great Western cartoons, but it's just a pain in the ass watching this.

Angst stories are so hard to write for this show. Do you play up the teenager angle? Then it all looks petty compared to the "superhero saving the world" hook of the show. But if you base the angst on the superhero side of things, like have one of them die, or suffer a major injury that not even Lucky Charm can just dismiss with a wave of the hand, or take a more realistic take on Chat discovering his Dad's secret, the whole thing becomes hard to relate to because it is simply too fantastic. It's hard to find something that strikes a proper balance between these two issues. It's even harder if you're a teenager yourself who is just ranting about their own problems using these characters. And unfortunately, a lot of angsty fanfiction is from angsty teens who are not exactly gifted writers.
