What a beautiful film
>>
Isn't it not coming out in us anymore?
>>
>>80855223
It was pulled out of theaters but its already on all the major torrent sites. And Netflix picked it up and is releasing it later this year if you insist on watching it legally
>>
>>80855264
If I enjoy something I watch it legally, so I don't mind waiting
>>
>>80855352
how do you know you'll enjoy watching something if you haven't seen it yet

why would you watch things you don't enjoy

you sound foolish
>>
>>80855264

Why the hell was it pulled from theatres?
>>
>>80855393
Who knows. Probably because they realized they would be losing money after literally not marketing the movie at all in the states. They announced they were pulling it only a week before release, too
>>
>>80855370
Pay for ticket, watch movie. If I enjoy it I stay, if I don't I walk out and get refund.

You do know you can get your money back don't you? Or are you just trying to sound dumb and rationalize your illegal acts
>>
>>80855207
Danny?
>>
Were the stop motion scenes actually stop motion, or just made to look that way?
>>
>>80856250
Given the quality of the CG bits, I'm going to say it was actual stop motion.

The director said it will still be coming out later this year, just gotta get a new distributor. Even if it doesn't, you two can just watch it on Netflix together.
>>
>>80855393
netflix bought the distribution rights
>>
>>80856948
10 points to Slytherin
>>
>>80857318
Netflix got the rights because the studio decided to drop it without giving any reason

>ouiaboo
I was gonna say fryaboo, but that's so much funnier I'll go cry now.
>>
>>80855207
I'm conflicted about seeing this. It looks like something that will fill me with a whole lot of feels I don't really want to feel.

The Little Prince books are fantastic though. And filled with Alice level of social and political satire.
>>
>>80859456
I saw it yesterday. I cried. Just let it happen anon.
>>
>>80855207
I heard this was mediocre.
>>
>>80861178
you gonna be a faggot or are you going to watch this cartoon made for children?
>>
>>80856948

It's paaafecuto.
>>
>>80861178
It's really is good.
>>
>>80861178
Some parts may be unoriginal, but i thought it was decent. It certainly respects the source material, uses it as a frame to tell another story rather than trying to adapt it 100% with the risk of pissing off purists
>>
Did it win any foreign awards? It seriously deserved too.
>>
>>80855207
I wasn't all that impressed really. The stop motion scenes with the Prince were nice but the bulk of the movie was the incredibly bland CGI.
>>
>>80856444
You need to get it in good quality and get together for a private show.
With some wine, escargo and candlelight.
And then maybe... hon hon hon HON!
>>
>>80864614
Also I hope he's comfortable with crying in front of that girl.

It's not a new word. Ouiaboo has been a thing as far back as the Wakfu premiere 5+years ago.
>>
It's a beautiful book. The author lived a beautiful life.
>>
>>80855264
Fuck, I didn't even know this movie existed until this thread.
>>
>>80855748
no that guys white, danny's asian
>>
>>80869281
Because there was no american marketing for it. I highly recommend it if you want some beautiful feels.
>>
>>80869170
I took me long time to figure out that the author actually did crash a plane in the Sahara. Hardcore.
>>
>>80869281
It's not as good as the book or the stage production.
>>
>>80871869
Well I've never seen or heard of either so...

>>80869599
Where can I see it?
>>
>>80871869
Isn't that because it's not directly the story of the book, but a story about the experience of reading the book?

Its going to be on netflix "later this year".

Until then you are going to have to get it off of the piratebay or kickass
>>
>>80861178
I saw it. I liked it. Respectful of the source material yet managing to tell a new story at the same time.
>>
>>80871469
Wasn't it over the Mediterranean?
>>
>>80872180
You can torrent it or wait for it to appear on Netflix.
>>
>>80872312
Both. And many others. He crashed a lot.

He was not what you'd call a good pilot.
>>
>>80861178
I watched it, half the film is breddy gud 10/10
the other half is not so good anymore, still, it is a pretty good movie and I would recommend it,
>>
>>80855393
Because American men can't be seen crying in public.

At least the girl and her mom are cute together.
>>
>>80855207
Nigga, I'll argue with you for hours if I have to.

I've seen it when it came out in Europe and it was pure shit that missed the whole point of the book.

The moment the plane starts and she flies out is the moment this movie went from 7/10 to FUCKYOU/10. It's like they absolutely needed a villain, so they went with capitalism and shat on everything the book stood for.

Fuck, I remember I even read the whole book before watching it, since it's short as fuck and took me less time than the movie to go through it. What a fucking trainwreck, especially since the Prince scenes where he's made out of paper were so amazing.
>>
>>80872189
Baically, and the framing device isn't as good.
>>
>>80872189
>>80873121
If it was only about the experience, it'd be an amazing movie, but she actually flies away on the Pilot's plane and goes to the planets, sees how they changed after the book, and Prince is now grown up and working as a janitor and holy fuck don't even get me started in how many ways it was wrong
>>
>>80873153
>>80873097
As someone who never read the book (and someone who doesn't think movies should be judged on what they are based on), I do agree that the movie took a very slight turn for the worse when she got in the plane. Even then though it was still fantastic. Maybe just dropped from a 9/10 to an 8/10 for me
>>
>>80873153
Its okay anon
It was all a dream, right?
>>
>>80873249
I thought it very clearly wasn't meant to be taken literally
>>
>>80873249
If it was, that fucking needle I tried to end my life with after seeing what they did to the Prince wasn't needed and now I just feel silly.

>>80873235
Read the book, it's quite great. Obviously, today and as an adult you'll find it simple, but you can see why it's so popular and should be read by every small fucker. Try it, it's free and you should finish it before even this thread closes.

As for the movie - it legit was a great thing, but if you knew the book, I guess you'd have some understanding why it was so awful going the way they did later. It suddenly got less about showing kids different adults and people closed in the circle of their life and work, and more about "lol bad guy, you need to make him remember who he is to defeat bad guy and save... something".
>>
>>80872189
Honestly, regardless of execution, this is probably the best way they could capture the feel of the book. The way the book is frame has a constant air of "an old man telling you a story he made up", which is something that gets lost in nearly every other adaption.
>>
>>80873346
That last sequence in the city definitely was unwanted. But what's important to me is the parts telling the book's story was great. And the papercraft animation they did captured the book's style to a tee.
>>
I saw the OP and my first thought was Iron Fist.

Give Danny a long ass yellow scarf for the netflix series.

I'll tell you, I watched a early screening of it last year by the director himself in my native language. It was pretty good, but I'd be lying if didn't say that it could've been incredibly great.
>>
>>80878520
Also, yeah, the 3rd act was garbage.
>>
Le Petit Prince is my favourite book and I waited for this movie since I saw the first trailer a couple years ago. It was shown last November in my country and I though it was amazing, although the third act is easily the weakest part of the movie, but still good nonetheless.

I bought the Bluray past week and it's as good the third time, but again, the third act stands out as not as good the others, no matter how you want to put it.
>>
>>80855207
It was ok but the last part when the girl took the plane to the ending of the film was kind of meh. I liked the animation of the prince in the desert. 7/10
>>
>>80872758
Nice movie, I love it.

>>80879282

Those feelings about the death...

/a/ has made this joke for years

Japanese artists are obsessed with France
>>
>>80872471
I liked both but I can admit there are times when it feels like two movies could have been told and one was the obviously better choice.
