September 23, 1977. A Friday evening. Stu was looking forward to TGIF after a backbreaking day of stocking shelves at the local gas station. Most importantly, he was eager to hit the dance floor at the local club and show off his disco strut as Gloria Gaynor played over the sound system. As he was temporarily between cars (don't ask why), he decided instead to borrow his grandma's Mercury Monarch. She was napping and he hoped he'd get home before she noticed the thing was missing.
Stu got behind the wheel, absentmindedly swatted the pine-scented air freshener hanging from the mirror, and started the ignition. As he drove down the roadway, he glanced up at a billboard advertising Star Wars at the local theater. "Eh, I already seen it six times." he mused to himself. Stu glanced at the clock on the dashboard and began to get worried about the time, so he decided to floor it. As he careened around the corner of 5th and Market at 50 mph, he was confronted by a white Dodge Dart. "Oh Jesus no!" Stu exclaimed as the Dart slammed into the side of the Mercury. The two vehicles ground to a halt and the driver, a mid-30s man, got out and looked with slight bewilderment at his crushed ride. "Owww, sorry. Are you ok?" he asked as Stu lay there in the driver's seat, blood pouring down his face and making incoherent gargling sounds.
"Oh boy, I'd better get help." said the driver. "Is there a pay phone around here somewhere?" He looked around the quiet suburban neighborhood and assumed not. Just then, the front door of a house opened and a mid-40s housewife came outside. "Goodness, what a mess! I'll call an ambulance." she said. "Maybe someday we'll all have portable phones we can carry in our pocket and use any time." said the driver. "We'll have colonies on Mars before that ever happens." snorted the housewife. Shortly afterwards, the police, fire, and an ambulance arrived. They extricated Stu from the mangled Mercury, but he died on the way to the hospital. His grandma was quite thoroughly pissed at her car being wrecked.
Suddenly, Lincoln Loud woke up. He rubbed his head and stared at the ceiling. The digital clock on his nightstand read 1:35 AM. "Oh man, I had one of those Stu dreams again." he said. "Stu is my alter ego. He travels through time and has all kinds of adventures in different periods of history, most of them ending in him dying horribly. The other night, he was an Algerian pirate in the 16th century and died after drinking too much port wine and falling off of a..." "LINCOLN, SHUT UP AND QUIT TALKING TO YOURSELF. PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SLEEP." yelled Lori from across the hall. "Yes, Lor-i." Lincoln muttered. He then scratched his behind, yawned, and decided to go and use the bathroom. As Lincoln walked into the bathroom, he could feel something squishy under his foot. He looked down and realized that he was stepping on one of Lily's used diapers. "Oh no, not again!" he exclaimed. "SHUT. UP." yelled Lori. "Errrghhhh..." Lincoln muttered. After washing his foot off in the tub, a twisted smirk formed around his face.
Lincoln had always had a degree of quiet resentment towards his family, and it had gotten worse since his mother had died (don't ask). And on this velvety June evening, he finally snapped. Lincoln tiptoed to his father's bedroom and opened the top drawer of the nightstand, where the elder Loud kept a loaded Magnum .357 in case someone tried to burglarize their home or rape his nubile daughters or whatever. He took the handgun, pointed it at his sleeping father's forehead, and squeezed the trigger. "Nighty-night, old man. Serves you right for having defective sperm. Can't even give me one brother in ten tries."
Next, Lincoln walked out of the room and down the hallway. As he did so, Lori emerged from her room. "Lincoln, just what are you doing at this ungodly hour? You're lucky this isn't a school night or I'd..." Before she could answer, Lincoln spun around and fired a slug right between her eyes. The eldest Loud child slumped to the ground, a trail of blood running out of the bullet wound. "Enjoy your dirt nap, bitch." Lincoln said quietly. He then decided that his next victim would be Lucy. Next to Lori, she was Lincoln's most hated sister. Her Goth poetry reading drove him nuts and he was determined to put an end to it. Forever. Lincoln quietly snuck into Lucy's bedroom and shot her in the face as she slept.
With Lucy down, Lincoln next decided he'd go for Luna. He'd always hated that wannabe punk rocker and having to listen to her abrasive music collection, especially while he was trying to do his homework. To his surprise, Luna emerged from her room next. "Ugghh, what is going on out here?" she asked. Half asleep, she didn't notice her older sister's corpse laying on the floor. "Lincoln, why are you awake at almost 2:00 AM?" Luna muttered. Before she could get any more words out of her mouth, Lincoln fired a shot into her forehead. Just then, he realized that he only had one more bullet left. Since this wasn't enough to get rid of his seven remaining sisters, he decided on a different and more dramatic way to get rid of them.
Lincoln headed down to the garage and took out the gasoline can for the lawn mower. He walked back into the dining room and poured gas all over the rug. Lincoln then got a box of matches out of a drawer in the kitchen. "This should take care of the rest." he said to himself as he lit a match and threw it into the gasoline-soaked carpet, which lit up in flame instantly. He then walked outside, stood there for about five minutes watching mesmerized as the flames started to engulf the house, and then loaded the remaining bullet into the Magnum. Lincoln placed the barrel of the gun to his temple and pulled the trigger.
Meanwhile, Luan woke up in a panic as smoke started filling the upstairs hallway. "Oh my god, what's happening?" she exclaimed. The next day, they dug through the charred rubble and found the bodies of Mr. Loud, Lori, Leni, Luna, Lynn, Lucy, Lola, Lana, and Lisa. Lincoln's body was collected from the front yard where it lay.
Luan and Lily, the only survivors, were placed in foster homes. Thoroughly shaken by the sudden, dramatic loss of almost her entire family, Luan suffered from nightmares for years afterward. She became addicted to smack and went through several failed marriages before hanging herself at the age of 36. Lily, who was too young to remember that night or her family, went on to become a journalist for the New York Times. She lived a long, rich life and met many of the great personalities of her age.
