Even if I don't read it, I love the summary of The Ladybug Diaries.
Short and to the point.
Most people don't really understand the importance of the summary in bringing people in.
Especially for OC fics where most of them sound terrible. I find you just have to add some gimmick like Gamer or Harem Plan to make people interested enough.

This one is a lot tougher at first glance, but it has a lot of good stories because of their personalities. Jaune wearing his heart on his sleeve, wanting to solve his own problems on his own, generally being a good man. Blake hiding herself away, running from her problems or keeping them to herself out of fear, very mistrustful but wants to do right.
Arkos can work. It's just that the conflict you have to introduce has to be an outside force that meshes with the story. Maybe have someone target Jaune or Pyrrha, keeping them apart. Or have Jaune's transcripts brought to light and has to leave. Or anything really. Because otherwise where is the conflict? Where is the tension that puts you on your seat hoping that they can pull through and come out on top?
That's what I feel about Arkos any way. It was honestly at its best with the whole fall maiden thing, but prior to that it was a dull as sin "I'm lonely at the top so I am gonna pork LITERALLY the first person to treat me normal". Makes me wonder if she'd be chasing the Rubooty if Ruby ended up as her partner.

They're great friends to Ruby so there's that common thing at least. Weiss had an arc where she came to respect Ruby as a leader and Jaune had an arc where Ruby encouraged him as a fellow leader right after. Weiss wouldn't let Ruby go alone because it's dangerous. Jaune would drop a mission just to see if Ruby was in danger and is now going with her on the journey despite everything that's happened and united by a common goal.
Maybe that phone call to save Pyrrha would come up again so they can get some nice interactions.

I subscribe to the idea that Ruby isn't really interested in romance so I guess I find it hard to imagine her in romantic situations. Not yet anyway. Maybe in the far future when her character in the show has changed, I can see White Rose or Lancaster happening.
Jaune and Weiss both showed they're interested in romance so there's that. They have key similarities in terms of goals and background. Jaune even chased after Weiss for a time and even though it didn't work out, Weiss came to understand that Jaune didn't mean anything bad and wasn't just chasing her family name. I like the pairing because it's like seeing your 2 close friends bonding over their experiences and getting together.

It was both. How does a cool thing happening before Weiss' summon invalidate it? If Weiss just stepped up and summoned, everyone would be calling it an ass-pull. They combined Weiss' summoning frustrations and her getting over her Faunus prejudices into one moment, and it was stronger for that.
