The latest Civil War II teaser depicts Spider-Man (Peter Parker), who will not die in that event because Slott is protective of that character.

Sauce: Nerdist

>movie synergy strikes again

How long till this becomes his new costume in the books because synergy?
>>
>>80773040
Spider-Man is in an event? What madness is this? Spider-Man is never in those things, clearly this must be the fault of the MCU.
>>
>>80773185
Honestly it's an improvement over his current comic suit.
>>
>>80773185
Probably pretty soon, as his company comes crashing down. Since we've seen that Parker is a complete fuck up when it comes to being a CEO.
>>
>>80773216
...the fuck are you talking about? He's in most events. He just doesn't generally play a huge role (Civil War being the exception... so naturally Bendis is trying to redo that and have him be a big player again in Civil War II).
>>
>>80773089
Bendis wanted to kill him, Slott was all bothered because of that.
>>
>>80773301
>not detecting sarcasm

>movie synergy strikes again
It's a line wide even anon
>>
>>80773301
Whatever role Peter has, it's not going to be nearly as significant as the role Miles will have. This is Bendis we're talking about here.
>>
>>80773216
Three Spidey events this year
-Power Play (return of MJ and Regent, team-up with Avengers, Miles and Iron Man)
-Civil War II
-Dead No More
>>
>>80773112
This. It's hard being a straight white man. It's hard and nobody understands.
>>
>>80773319
Even Bendis' power is not that great.
>>
>>80773301
>>80773336
I should have made my sarcasm more obvious it seems

This guy gets it >>80773327
>>
>>80773333
Even this event is born out of movie synergy quads.
>>
>>80773354
Don't worry about it. Autists are incapable of detecting any form of sarcasm.
>>
Does Bendis really want to kill Peter? Why?
>>
>>80773335
>it's not going to be nearly as significant as the role Miles will have.

Absolutely. According to Bendis, Miles is akin to a literal god.
>>
>>80773336
>yfw all of these are fucking trash
>>
>>80773393
He clearly wants Miles to be the one true Spider-Man. I don't understand why you haven't realized this yet. He killed his own version of Peter Parker in order to show the world how great Miles is.
>>
Pete, don't you remember what happened last Civil War? You lost your marriage and your Aunt got shot by a sniper. You'd think you would want to avoid this.
>>
>>80773457
>in order to show the world how great Miles is.
Something he attempts to repeat in, literally, every Miles appearance since.
>>
>>80773393
Bendis is a moron who thinks that his oc donut steel Miles is good enough to replace 616 Peter. He wants to "re-invent the wheel" by replacing Marvel's long time mascot with his own in hopes that he'll be remembered alongside Ditko and Lee
>>
>>80773393
He does there was an interview about the Summit about Civil War II and Bendis proposed to kill Peter, Slott told him to politely fuck off apparently and leave Peter alone, so they went with something else.
>>
>>80773504
>in hopes that he'll be remembered alongside Ditko and Lee

Meanwhile, the Spidey writer, Slott, is trying to do the exact same thing over in ASM. But in that case, he's just stripping Peter (and his supporting cast) of anything identifiably "Spider-Man", one element at a time. Oh, and writing some of the shittiest stuff comics have seen in decades.
>>
>>80773532
They're both shit, but at least Slott moved silk to her own series and allowed her to become her own character instead of having Pete die and her take up the mantle and take every bit of his own supporting cast
>>
>>80773528
>Slott told him to politely fuck off apparently and leave Peter alone

I honestly wonder what Slott's motive was here. Was he actually defending Peter? Was he defending his job? Both?
>>
>>80773561
Being on Spidey/Wolverine book is safest gig at Marvel.
>>
>>80773555
>but at least Slott moved silk to her own series

I find it hard to believe that this was Slott's decision. More than likely, it was Nick Lowe, his editor. After he saw the reader reaction to the character.
>>
>>80773597
Unless you're JMS, of course.
>>
>>80773528
>I think we should kill off Peter in the upcoming Civil War 2, fans won't be ready to see Spider-Man die
>Actually Mich, Spider-Verse was the last big thing Spidey del with, and we killed dozens of Peter's there
>What's Spider-Verse, I mean we kill Peter and let Miles take up the webs
>Mich, that already happened in Ultimate Spider-Man...
>what's Ultimate Spider-Man? I'm talking about Peter letting Miles take over here
>can't we just make Miles Pete's sidekick? I've been wanting to write Batman, but I think it would be way cooler to have both-
>MILES IS NOT A SIDEKICK REEEEE
>Mich, kindly fuck off and just leave Peter alone
>REEEEEEEE
where were you when Dan Slott saved the one true Spider-Man?
>>
Would Bendis pull every editorial favor he had to keep Parker dead so miles could "thrive" until it inevitably crashed and burned?
>>
Why does Bendis constantly bring up that his costume is cooler every time they meet? When it really isn't. The clones had better costumes
>>
>>80773751
You know he would. It's one thing to have your son-insert in alternate universe, but main Marvel Spider-Man? That shit is what gets Bendis hard.
>>
>>80773682
>where were you when Dan Slott saved the one true Spider-Man?
Just so he could turn him into Iron Man-lite.

I wonder if Bendis is just pissed because Slott is writing a more Iron Man-y book than his own Iron Man book.

He snatched up MJ and is trying to kill Peter now? Sounds like a bitter rivalry to me.
>>
>>80773751
I'm surprised he hasn't already.
>>
>>80773040
It's only movie synergy because they're redoing an event. Spider-Man being in a line-wide event isn't movie synergy. Now if they kill and deage him upon rebirth, feel free to whine
>>
>>80774178
>Spider-Man being in Civil War II is IMPLIED movie synergy to some extent.
ftfy
>>
>>80773352
It's more like even Bendis can be talked out of doing something retarded.
>>
>>80773776
The best way to prove a character's worth is to have other characters gush over them at every opportunity.
>>
>Slott fighting to keep Peter alive
>After he had to be coerced into reverting Superior Spider-Man
>And committed Spider-Genocide in 'Verse
Make up your mind Danny boy
>>
>>80773561
He still has Silver Surfer, so I doubt he was just defending his job.

but isn't it his current suit minus the glowing parts
>>
>>80773040
>Slott has to argue to keep Peter alive
>instead they will kill She-Hulk, who Slott wrote for a long time
BENDIS STRIKES AGAIN!
>>
>>80773393
No he didn't, the Bendisfags (because that's what these obsessed fucks are) are just looking for an excuse to hate Bendis, and him suggesting Peter should be the hero who falls (that could mean anything) automatically means he wanted to kill him and put Miles instead, despite Miles already being the main New York Spider-Man and him never coming up in the actual conversation.

tl;dr No he didn't, people here is just being retarded as usual.

Civil War Too: The Slotterhouse gets Bendis(ed)

I would read this.
>>
>>80773089

Bendis joked about it and /co/ took it super srs
>>
>>80773682
I'm telling you what was reported, not trying to interpret anything, Bendis asked to kill Peter, Slott said no, that's just it.
>>
>>80774455
Though they also didn’t immediately settle on a big-name hero to turn into the culprit, Bendis kept referring to the doomed hero as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man.

“Do you see me worried? I’m not worried,” whispers “Amazing Spider-Man” writer Dan Slott. “This is not my first rodeo. By the end of the afternoon, it won’t be Peter Parker.”

And sure enough, Parker is saved a grim fate by the afternoon as mass opinion shifts attention to other characters.

Another candidate is the Fantastic Four’s Human Torch, but Bendis extinguishes that idea quickly.

“He burns people and that’s so horrible (to illustrate),” the scribe says.

Other ideas are bounced around.

“What if the pressure causes (the hero) to commit suicide,” suggests James Robinson, another Marvel writer, adding that it could be a good way to draw attention to the scourge of cyber-bullying.
>>
>>80774681
Oh I know, I'm just wrote out a ridiculous green text story of how I figured it went down. As much as I don't like Slott on Spidey, I think any other writer would have caved under Bendis power and allowed him to kill Peter, but Slott saying no really makes me smile, dispite all of his shitty writing the guy is still a Spider-Fan at heart
>>
>>80774764

>killing a black man and a woman is SJW now
You know tumblr hates Bendis, too.
>>
>>80774623
No, just a regular ol' Fantastic Four reference. I know people like to pretend it isn't the case, but this is still technically a comics board, not a movie board.
>>
>>80774878
> Bendis listens to Robinson and realizes a new way to ruin Wanda.

>writes for highest profile book on publisher's roster
>not wanting to lose gig, so defends character

How is that not defending his job? Do you honestly think he'd make the same amount of dough if he just wrote Silver Surfer, a book that brings in only a fraction of ASM's sales numbers?

no other info?
>>
>>80775923
Regent's the villain, Peter's working with Tony's Avengers to stop him, and MJ's involved somehow. Other than that, I don't think anything else has been revealed.
>>
>>80774770
>dispite all of his shitty writing the guy is still a Spider-Fan at heart
...or he just doesn't want to lose his job.

It's OK, it's his niece.
>>
>>80775953
>Regent's the villain
The one thing absolutely everyone wanted to come out of Renew Your Vows.

Bravo Slott!
>>
>>80776016
Exciting, isn't it? He was the most dangerous foe from Secret Wars, after all.
>>
>>80776074
So dangerous, in fact, that Doom didn't even know he existed!
>>
>>80774120
Slott is writing shit, period.

It's not an Iron Man or a Spider-Man book. It's Incredible Plot Coincidence Man crossed with Felix the Cat's bag of magical tricks.
>>
>>80774648
Exactly. Bendis used Peter as a placeholder character so they could work on the story without getting hung up on who would actually die. And now people are taking this as proof of some sort of conspiracy or Bendis/Slott duel.

tl;dr: Amazing Spider-Man is usually Marvel's best selling title, the bean counters aren't going to let Bendis kill him off just for an event unless there's a plan to fill the ASM book ala Superior
