Why was Nuke in Jessica Jones? Has he ver been associated with either her or the Purple Man in 616?

The Netflix shows are a good way to introduce characters that may never saw the light of live-action day. Also, Jessica has only one real Villian, which she vanquished at the end of season one, they need to plant the seeds for more. He or IGH could be the villians for next season.

Nuke was probably on the list of characters the Movie folks said they have no intention of ever using and that the TV shows could use freely.
Nuke debuted in Daredevil, but he's got more than enough villains to keep him occupied for upcoming seasons (Bullseye, The Owl, Gladiator, Mr. Fear...).

Daredevil is a hub for a lot of C-list street-level villains that they want to use for the Netflix project, so they're spreading the wealth. Especially what with Jessica having virtually none and Luke's being problematic.
I wonder if they could/would ever use a Spider-Man villain, since he won't use them all. Maybe the Chameleon?

The chameleon would be good enough for Jessica Jone's style, given his powers. Mind games are a cool thing to play with.

But it was a cool surprise to see him because I loved Miller's Daredevil stuff so much, and I don't think they revealed that Nuke would be in Jessica Jones before the show came out

He'd be a good male side character, he'd start some drama, he might be Marvel's way of keeping the options open for some version of Weapons Plus and the government/military trying to fill Cap's shoes after he was lost when he took down Red Skull's plane, to when they found him and thawed him out.
