I don't hate it, just dislike it. The story is nothing special and it has Superman being a dick to Lex Luthor for no reason when they first meet.
I'm confused as to why people rate this alongside All-Star or Secret Identity.

I really think Man of Steel was overrated. The whole birthing matrix thing was ultimately unnecessary. It gives depth to Krypton, sure but Krypton is such a small part of Clark's identity and by giving that Kryton that depth through a plot device that furthers his separation from it seems counter intuitive.
Then again soul vision isn't much better.
