It's a good idea, but not for a finale streak. If they had it before the finale and had just a four-parter with them battling up to Bill then it'd be ok.
Gave Candy some focus after the subplot in Northwest Mansion Mystery where Grenda got a boyfriend and how she played a role in Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons but not Candy.
Also I guess to touch back on Dipper's crush on Wendy to highlight that it can still take time to get over it, which is probably better touch on at that point than after them talk in the second episode of the season and the illusion of Wendy bringing it up when she failed to tempt Dipper during Escape From Reality.
