But the recolor looks better here? Honestly, the only times the recolor doesn't look better are in the golden age pages, which the recolor completely fucked up, and the first fight with Kid Miracleman.
People get all butthurt about the recolor not having that toxic 80s vibrance, which I get, but color palette aside, the original coloring job was actually pretty shitty.

They're not just printing the scripts. Quesada did the art for Morrison's unprinted Kid Miracleman story and Buckingham is coming back to do the unfinished Gaiman run. They're full comics, not just scripts.

I'm pretty sure the recoloring job was done by Steve Oliff the same guy that did the Simonson Thor recolor. He was the big hot shot colorist in the early to mid 90's before Dave Stewart came in
I'd rather see him do a new coloring job if they have to use glossy paper than a digital restoration where the original colors are just bright and garish on new paper
