Why are all of illuminations movies so unfunny and cringeworthy?
>>79837964
Because they're the more retarded cousin of Blue Sky.
they appeal to a wider audience
>>79837964
because they're french
>>79837964
come on, OP.HOW BAD CAN THEY BE?
>>79837964
They appeal to the lowest common denominator.

The what
>tfw this movie concept actually sounds fun
I wish LITERALLY ANY OTHER STUDIO had thought of it
>>79838488
i love LITERALLY ANY OTHER STUDIO'S works

After Horton, I was excited for the Lorax and another charming animated Seuss movie. But Illumination just somehow has this way of just falling flat on their face and trying, and trying, and trying to nail in this forced humor that feels unnatural, unhumorously raunchy, and insincere. Plus the weird way their characters just seem to move around the screen all haphazardly without charm. Maybe they'd be good at shorts, but full length movies are just awful.
>>79838563
LITERALLY ANY OTHER STUDIO made that one movie with the guy and the thing.
>>79838983
oh man, the guy and the thing. that part where the spoiler happens was amazing
>>79838616
remember when we saw the trailer for Despicable Me a year before release
remember when it turned out to just be the first 3 minutes of the movie
remember when the exciting thing that happened had nothing to do with Gru
remember when the most villainous character in the movie was the woman running the orphanage
remember when DM2 was unfunnier
remember when minions made everyone on facebook into an even bigger shithead than usual
>>79837964
Assuming you're talking about Secret Life of Pets.
It's because the concept is fucking boring and trite, and there's nothing that could be done story or character wise to make it work. It could be handled better if it had unique animation, but this is bland CGI.
>>79839211
And remember when the 'moral' of DM2 was completely at odds with the beginning of the movie and the latter half of the first?
Gru was doing a fine job as a single parent. Either don't shoehorn in a wife or make him not fully capable of handling children by himself.
OH

Jesus, no.

I saw this image in an op yesterday and assumed they were chocolate rabbits for an Easter advertisement.
I guess this is not the case.
What is this?

Yiff in hell

>>79841630
that fucking Koala god damn
Despicable Me is pretty gud OP
>>79841630
That smug fedora mouse pisses me the fuck off
>>79841274
Oh god. I actually like the DM movies and I'm reasonably hopeful about SLOP but god damn does this look like garbage.
I had some sort of faith in Illumination, but this looks all sorts of ass.
Reminder that Minions is the 11th highest grossing movie of all time.
>>79841274
>twerking rabbits
>to a song about fucking
AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Dreamworks or Illumination, which is worse?
>>79841630
>85 songs
>Matthew McConaughey as a koala
>>79841274
Is this what a concussion feels like?
>>79837964
blame Dreamworks
Everything I've heard about Sing so far sounds abysmal
>>79843101
>$1.159 billion
FUCK
>Lorax and Minions made me retroactively despise their gorgeous animation style
>>79842446
>Seth MacFarlane
>>79841274
So that confirms it, Ghost World is still the only good /co/ related film ScarJo's ever been in.
>>79843101
>>79839930
This movie has bunnies shaking their butts. Shouldn't /co/ be hyped for it?
>>79841630
>A mouse (Seth MacFarlane) who croons as smoothly as he cons, a timid teenage elephant (Tori Kelly) with an enormous case of stage fright, an overtaxed mother (Reese Witherspoon) run ragged tending a litter of 25 piglets, a young gangster gorilla (Taron Egerton) looking to break free of his family’s felonies, and a punk-rock porcupine (Scarlett Johansson) struggling to shed her arrogant boyfriend and go solo. Each animal arrives under Buster’s marquee believing that this is their shot to change the course of their life.
So is Illumination just gonna use their Minions shekles to be the Asylum of animation?
>>79846272
Rabbits shaking their ass is only sexy if they actually looked sexy
>>79839533
I don't understand why people talk about this movie. It's so overdone that there's nothing more to tell.
Is Illumination going to be the next great Studio?
Disney is the only constant, and while it may wax and wane, it will never fall.
>>79837964
>Why are all of illuminations movies so unfunny and cringeworthy?
The guy who runs Illumination used to work at 20th Century Fox Animation, where he was responsible for Ice Age and Alvin and the Chipmunks movies.
That sums it up.

>Yiffin' hell
ftfy
>>79841274
No fucking way
There's literally nothing more to this movie than animals singing and dancing and raising and lowering their eyebrows.
Usually it's the very first teaser that shows all the characters dancing and singing, like the recent Trolls trailer, but literally all the substance of this movie is going to be is just singing, dancing, smug cartoon animals.
>>79841274
Why does it have Scarjo's name in the title if she's not in the trailer?
