Weapon XI was supposed to be Garrison Kane, played by Scott Adkins. But Deadpool was popular, so they literally smashed the two together in reshoots.
If you pay close attention you'll notice Reynolds is only Weapon XI in close-up shots, and they still used Adkins in the faraway shots, crediting him as a stuntman.
