He basically did. RDJ, Evans and ScarJo all complimented the Russos a lot. I don't think they got along well with Whedon's control freak nature. At this point, the actors know more about the characters than the directors, and the Russos let the actors do their thing. Whedon is much more controlling and kept re-writing shit on the day. It helps that the Russos are actually 4 of them to distribute the task, but it also helps that each one of them would wipe the floor with Whedon.
The only actors I've seen praising/being praised by Whedon were Rufallo and Olsen, who were both cast and directed for the first time by him. Hemsworth doesn't have enough neurons to form opinions, I don't think. Also he's an Aussie, so he's chill as fuck by nature.
But at some point Whedon and Evans must have butt heads. Whenever Mackie asked if Evans' favorite line was 'Language' he scoffed and dismissed it. Fuck Whedon. Let him go back to doing one note characters in Firefly where it actually fit.

Movie deal and advertizing deal are two different deals, basically. Remember that both Marvel and Sony have juggernaut marketing departments that are much much bigger than their comic-book studios.
Each time spider-man is mentioned or shows up, Sony will try to make a case for 25% or something like that. Those things can't possibly be gauged since Spiderman is traditionally the most popular hero and the new toy, but also the only one with underperforming movies.
Also, Marvel has a proven track record of low marketing costs (up until AoU, anyway) and still hit the mark on the revenue. Sony spent as much in marketing as it did in production for TASM2 (which should be roughly the same values AoU spent with all the ad spam), but only got half the revenue, so there's a bit of dick measuring to be expected.
Their best way to do this is to give Marvel the Avengers-related marketing money, and Sony the Spider-man-related marketing money. Balance things out by having spider-man in cap's ads and later on having RDJ on spideys, if they chose to pay him for a cameo.
But bureaucracy is never easy nor clean. The later they show him, the better for me.
