Hey /co/ let's read Giant Days!
>>78984286
How is everyone doing today?
>>78984360
This class is boring so I'll read this instead.
>>78984387
As long as you don't risk your future anon. I don't want to be the reason you fail a class.
>>78984413
The only thing that can make me fail a class is crippling depression.
>>78984461
Well if that ever starts creeping up you can talk to me about anything anon, I'm here for you.
>>78984565
>m'lady
Fuckin white knights man
>>78984370
I'm still pissed at Allison for how he broke up The Boy and Esther.
If he wanted to show high school relationships not lasting into college, that's fine. But he should have found a better way than having Esther randomly cheating with an enormous asshole in her first week.
>>78984565
>m'lady
fuckin poonce
My god this is just awful. Its like reading daytime programming on Lifetime. Fucking no content dribble.
>>78984970
fuck you this is great stop being racist, god!
>>78984970
It's billed as a slice of life so that makes sense really. I can see you being disappointed if you came in with different expectations.
>>78984801
>that broken polish
adorable
>>78984768
is that something told later, or is this an ongoing, from something else?
esther reminds me of that short story about the dude with the roommate that is so mysterious, all women get mystified by him, and his female friend has a best friend who is also too perfect.
>>78984565
I can't tell if this is a reference to fedoras or if the writer actually used it unironically.
Help.
I love this comic, I storytimed the Winter Ball issue in the Christmas threads. Be sure to check out Murder She Writes by Allison too , it's great.
>>78985056
Is slice-of-life inherently vapid bullshit like real life?
>>78984970
>dribble
Isn't it "drivel"?
>>78984978
thats racist.
>>78985132
It's a comic book continuation of a webcomic that was itself a spinoff of another webcomic.
>>78985164
other guy is admiring an stick as a "nice peice of oak"
>>78984997
Nah, think he and artist are just that hipster.
>>78985205
I don't really think the goal of this comic was to provide anything particularly stimulating or challenging. I could be wrong though and maybe I am not aware of what slice of life books should accomplish. I just don't think it's a big deal that this book is the way it is.
>>78985244
ah. amusingly, when you put it that way, I recognize it now as Bad Machinery/Scarygoround. Although not actually familiar with the characters.
>>78985005
he's right tho. i'm reading it just because i like that guy's cartoon moustache
I'm enjoying the ride, but the pacing is really clunky.
>>78984477
>Esther and The Boy never got back together
>The Boy died for nothing and was turned into a hellhorse
it ain't fair
>>78984768
Agreed, ruined Esther for me. Fuck that whore.
>>78985569
>>78985615
Erin best girl anyway.
>>78985348
Esther/The Boy were characters in scarygoround, as blithe spirit goth girl and crazy-yet-sane inventor straightman, respectively. They got together at the expense of a third girl, who subsequently became an amazon and was erased from existence. It was a happier-than-realistic high school relationship. Then Esther got her own spin off, Giant Days (the webcomic, not the print comic), in which The Boy visited her once, then left, then she cheated on him all in the span of about a week.
At first I assumed it was because Allison wanted to break all ties to the previous stuff and open up possibilities for romantic storylines (which, again, could've been done in a less cheating bitchy kinda way), but given all the shit he has put The Boy through since then in Bad Machinery, it might just be that he has a hate boner for that character and wanted to punish him as much as possible.
>>78984970
you read John Allison for the smalltown British colloquialisms and cute, not depth
>>78985649
>Erin
>not Charlotte
>>78986029
>Amazonian Demon Queen
>middle schooler
>>78986098
excuse you she is a high schooler now
>>78986168
Well, that changes everything.
It means that Mildred is best girl.
>>78986029
Ginger minge, m8.
>>78986572
>>78986572
Loving that outfit
Where is the girl that was trown to hell in here?
I though she appeared in the original webcomic of giant days on the graveyard chapter?
>>78986464
Nooooooo.....
>>78986654
Erin? Don't think she's been in giant days at all. She popped up in Bad Machinery (or whatever the comics during the weekend are called, not sure).
>>78986790
She was in the original Giant Days.
And looked like she was going to be stable if the webcomic was going to continue.
>noodle drawings
>female centered
>Boom Comics
Let me guess, it's a "I am a strong, independent Woman that needs no man!" comic? Showing that men are monsters and females should just be dykes for the rest of their lives?
>>78987283
Not really actually
>>78986464
Shiiiiiit, is this after the Boy died?
>>78986131
I know the whore knows.
>>78984286
two pages in and already I don't like the stoner who's eyes are always half closed.
>>78987283
Tackleford is sooooooo comfy
>>78987384
No, that's a long time in the future. This is just after she cheated and broke up with him, and he fell into a cycle of depression and overeating. He might be avoiding her calls.
>>78984970
im actualyl really enjoying it
>>78987572
I feel this hard whenever I'm in New York
>>78984370
wow the comic already lost me I don't know why, it reeks of tumblr.
>>78987876
absolutely savage
>>78985319
>I don't really think the goal of this comic was to provide anything particularly stimulating or challenging
that's the problem with tumblr books, literally
>>78986758
>garnet amethyst and pearl are in line for the club
>>78986801
>Shaggy?
