They were fraternities started typically by the black members of universities years ago during the age of segregation. They do not restrict membership to blacks only, but other races especially whites typically do not apply. Since black men couldn't join other fraternities, they had to make their own.

Usually I get the clickbait of "imagine these cartoon character ALL GROWN UP" or "these disney princesses as crack whores".
