Not to dampen the mood, but the way I see it:

Adventure Time isn't the new or big thing to be into right now. It's gone on so long that there really isn't much to hype up or discuss, and, for some, we've already seen it shoot itself in the foot in the past enough times that it's hard to get excited again. Not to say that it isn't still decent, or that it doesn't still have its fans, nor am I saying that I've lost interest, but it's completely understandable if the interest has died for some or has at least gotten some to put the show down in priority.

the big things for most people were (in chronological order) the increased focus on romance starting season 4, Rebecca Sugar leaving the show early season 5, what happened to the finn/flame princess subplot in season 5, the episode betty feeling rushed, finn getting his arm back really soon after he lost it, and the orgalorg plot.

Rebecca Sugar has always been really overrated as a writer imo. She makes good feely songs, but that's all. Most people whining about her departure are the same one who just look up for AT threads to tell people how much better SU supposedly is.

There's a less edgy reason to it actually. Cartoon Network started fucking up their schedule heavily last year, making things inconsistent and most notably killing of the prominent AT schedule. The hype went down as soon as it happened, with Steven Universe at the same time getting big and all the AT haters finally starting to fuck up every thread because muh status quo. Adventure Time still is very popular, but the hype calmed down for stated reasons. On a /co/ related note many people were also butthurt about Finn's breakup and as the hype went down many left the board because of the number of retards killing every thread.

The problem with sugar leaving isn't "wah a writer i liked left", it's that she was the only person with any idea what to do with flame princess. And I don't mean that as in she was the only person that could write an episode with FP in, I mean she was the only person that had a plan that lasted more than a single episode, there was an actual arc that was starting up. So when RS left, the plotline was left to wither and go shit under the direction of people who have to guess out the character an episode at a time.
It's actually just another example of what's wrong with the show as a whole - there's no consistent direction or directorial vision for a feel of the show, so it's just a fractured mess of one-off episodes that (sometimes) have some characters you've seen before.

but if the other writers didn't like it, they shouldn't have let her start the arc by herself. clearly, absolutely nobody but her wanted Finn to have a girlfriend. which is hilarious considering how much hand-wringing this show does over relationships, but what are you gonna fucking do.
in general, she had a concept of how much work is involved in doing a character arc and was willing to put in that time. but noone else was ever going to work with her, so I can't say how much was really lost by her leaving. her main contribution imo was some amazing episodes in season 2.

Thought it was more weird/dumb than interesting, 6/10 I guess. Surprised so many people seemed to love it.
I was distracted by Seo and Somvi's awkward facial expressions and character movements throughout the entire episode, which is really weird because Angel Face had none of those things.
It was also very odd how Finn and Jake were so freaked out by this shit when they've seen ghosts a bunch of times before in the show and didn't bat an eye but now they're super freaking out because the plot requires them to be. Lazy lazy.
Climax was kind of dumb too but eh.
There were some alright moments though, I loved the part where the girls were just multiplying from the woodwork and when Finn explained what tulpas were.
So 6/10 I guess from me. Butt stuff was the best part.

Sometimes the show has him say stuff that I feel is way ooc (like most of Astral Plane with him BSing the whole episode about birth and shit) but this seemed to fit him better, I feel.
Maybe they were both ooc but I thought the one from Blank Eyed Girl worked better.
Just watched A King's Ransom. I love how much Finn, Jake and IK's relationship has evolved. Really enjoyed the episode a lot

All Finn and Jake did was hear about it on Startchy's radio shpw and they get terrified. The girl didn't even do anything scary in that story the Banana Guard told.
Episode did a really poor job at giving any reason that Finn and Jake would be afraid.
Am I the only one that was annoyed when Jake was actually able to play the clarinet on his shapeshifted one?
His powers don't work that way, that's why when he does stuff like try to turn into a sword it's not sharp, it's still made out of squishy dog flesh no matter what shape it's in.
That wasn't an actual instrument and it was dumb that it actually played music like that instead of just having Jake blow air through a tube.

As a guest animation episode I think it failed in its duties, didn't do anything interesting with stop motion aside from the storm, I guess. Really could have done more in that aspect.
Seems like poor payoff for a year of work but stop motion does take a retarded amount of effort so I can't blame em.
As a regular episode I think it was alright, though it did have a pretty weird conflict resolution. I guess that's not a new thing for this show though.
Even so, was kind of dull. Needed more things happening, and I don't think there were many jokes in it.
Despite all that, I kind of liked it but think it could have been better. Think 6/10 is a fair mark for it.
I was pretty surprised that LSP actually put effort into building the bunker.
