I only watch Toonami for DKZKai and Parasyte. I only watch DBZKai because the only saga I saw in its entirety during its first run was the entire Majin Buu saga -- other than that, I had only seen a smattering of random episodes that were the original Saban/Ocean/Funi dub. I'm not even dissing Naruto and One Piece fans, but we have to come to terms and understand that Toonami runs on one day a week, and having long running shows that literally have no end (One Piece) and shows that have endless filler with little to no hype (Naruto) will not fare the block well. Not to mention that viewer interest will wane, you can't just skip 300+ episodes and begin in the middle of buttfuck nowhere with a foreign show and expect people to flock to that shit. Not to mention it has a shit slot next to its long-running companion.
I understand Naruto on the block but I really cannot justify One Piece's existence on the block. We literally only have 3 and 1/2 hours, and to have 2 slots filled with polarizing content is not good. I understand when DBZ Kai ends they should switch in Naruto, but where the block stands right now they would be better off just replacing it. Look at what happens with the shorter series like SAO or Attack on Titan; you have to reair them multiple times (which nobody wants). They don't have the budget for new shows in their place which means reruns in order to make that money back. With a long running show that's circumvented, but that means that part of the block is going to be taken for years on end.
So I guess the question is what would you rather have, reruns of average shows over and over, or mediocre long runners?

Between Naruto and One Piece the series that should go really is Naruto. The series is already over in Japan, and the anime is literally repeating the endless filler that they did when the first series ended. (There's at least another year of pure filler planned, right in the middle of the fucking final fight.) One Piece only has a couple of small filler arcs left before it resorts to only padding out episodes, which is better than endless LET'S ALL SING THE FROGGY SONG for years on end.plus if viz wants to stay on the block it means hunter x hunter more likely than not, and that's like a good naruto/sao/dbz/hikaru no go/presidential election in place of terrible naruto

Toonami actively helped fund Dandy, if I recall, and got a really good Simuldub to go with it. Without Toonami, it may not have had as much money, and the dub would definitely have come out a while later (if at all) and might not have been as great as it was.

Because even at the anime's grueling pace, it's still easier to get through on an episode-by-episode basis than Shippuden, which is only really enjoyable on those rare occasions when a canon episode gets a budget boost.
On a related note, it's funny how people always give One Piece's ratings such shit, but the drop between Shippuden and the show before it has always, ALWAYS, been drastically larger than the gap between Shippuden and One Piece. Granted this week that's a bit deserved since KLK scored higher, but you never see anyone calling for Shippuden to be removed despite steeper ratings drops.

Look I know it gets thrown out a lot and dismissed just as much but 4kids fucked up One Piece's chances in the west really bad and Toonami didn't help things at all, even when it was back on prime time. They have no problem saying going "Naruto is Uncut Now!" but comparatively it wasn't cut even a third as much as this show was.
There's a reason that people still make meme jokes about the 4kids BITE OF GUM GUM dub every week. That was the first impression, and first impression is the strongest.
And yes, also the art style isn't traditional "anime", so all the kids with deviantart pages and yaoi fangirls are turned off. And those are rather huge chunks of the anime supporting public.
