Mate, I feel the general public will put up with a hell of a lot of Marvels bullshit when watching the films and given that they haven't put out a non enjoyable, legitimately shit film yet, that's a justified thought.
But I do think if they started doing a show with fucking puppets in it and asking us to believe that its just part of their world then the public would drop it in no fucking time and would lement the years that Marvel put out good films.
And don't give me that Muppets bullshit. The Muppets work their shctick of "They're real puppets guys!" thing where we all seem to play along. The key part is, we know they are puppets, the fact that they are is the fucking point.
If we are asked to accept that the people in the MCU don't notice they are puppets its a step too far.
The comics do shit like that, but they can afford to be shit and experimental as people will still buy them in both the hope that the story might get better or because they buy the series out of habit or an attachment to the character. Films don't have that luxury of proliferation and fast turnover.

AoS is barely ahead of Flash, it has a better average because it's premiere was huge, 4.9m viewers, but dropped to an average of 3.8m for subsequent episodes. Flash in comparison has averaged 3.6m viewers all season. Share wise, Flash is doing better than AoS, without the premiere spike, Flash has a 1.4 share to AoS's 1.37, keep in mind that the CW is a smaller network than ABC.
Agent Carter was bigger but suffered the same drop, 6.9m viewers for the two episode pilot down to 4m for the finale. Same with it's share, 1.93 to 1.4.
Arrow is doing okayish, usually around 2.5m viewers and 1 share, it did get a huge bump with the Legends/Flash crossover.
Gotham is doing well, 4.3m viewers on average and 1.51 share.
For perspective, Flash and Arrow are CW's best performing shows, Gotham is Fox's 2nd best, AoS and Agent Carter are 10th and 12th respectively for ABC.
