>>78861203
I went through a cross-country move like the girl went through, so by the end I was in tears. If you can't relate to that it probably won't be as good. It's still a very well put together movie though.
It's legitimately very good, though it's maybe a tenth of a tier below Pixar's absolute best (Finding Nemo, Toy Story imo). It has a few structural issues, which is why I knock it down a notch, but those issues only come as a result of it being the most ambitious and complicated thing Pixar's made.
>>78863631
not that guy, but it's my second favourite pixar film (hell, maybe second or third favourite animated film, period.) and every time I watch it I'm reminded of exactly why it's snapping at the heels of The Incredibles. It's just fantastic.

>>78871744
I'd say the ball's in your court. hell, I'd just be happy with a single page just so I can say "I did a smut thing and somebody made that smut thing into a comic."
I think if I had to choose, I'd rather go for 14 sketched pages on the grounds I'd rather there be more time given to the setup and intimacy between them, but whatever you think's best, dude. As I said, I'm just real glad you like it so much and the concept of somebody actually making a comic of it (even ms-paint levels of bad) just blows my mind in general.

I'm not one who sings giant praise for either of these, it was way better than Frozen though. Frozen relied on some big shocking reveal that while an ok moral, was not really all that ground breaking. Outside of that it was a another princess movie with tonal issues. Inside Out doesn't have some rely on being progressive to get it's praise. It's just what it is.

toy story 3 wasn't very good at all though.
Monsters university was pretty good though.
HTTYD is one of my top five movies, but part of it is the music. That soundtrack man. But I rewatched it lately: the plot has some weak bits. Still love the movie, but it's not flawless.
Personally enjoyed it more than Inside Out, although I think Inside Out has a more unique message.

Why is it that Riley's emotions are different genders, but when it comes to everyone else, they're the same?
Will Fear/Anger change gender when she hits puberty?

It is what it is. It takes a concept and wrings all the creative takes on it as you can. Train of thought, abstract ideas, dream theatre - the whole film is a showcase for this admittedly interesting world.
After it shows you a decent amount of this world, it ends before it becomes tedious. A great film, I loved it, should never have a sequel.

After a terrible event occurs to Riley, Joy senses a decrease in morale and decides to help the others by making a better relationship with all of them, following the suggestions in a magazine Riley read in the past:
>Joy taking Disgust to Fashion Island seeing Disgust trying on new clothes
>Joy taking Fear to an Goofball Island and winning him the largest stuffed bear in a game
>Joy sending Anger love letters from inside his newspaper
>Joy cuddling on the couch with Sadness under the covers, whispering sweet nothings to her
So essentially, polyamorus Joy.
>>78861203

And this is why I love 4chan
It didn't grab me, but it did what it did well.
I found the action setpieces to be ridiculously repetitive 'run and fall, run and fall.' But for those, I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more.
But ultimately, it felt more like a movie-length pilot for a TV show than a stand alone movie. A really GOOD movie length pilot, but still. I felt kind of blueballed by it once the credits rolled rather than simply feeling left wanting more. The story it told was perfectly complete, but it just feels like there's so much left to do with the premise, and this really clever world they created.
I did find the overall sentiment really moving. Exploring the reason we need sadness, exploring how our emotions influence us (the dinner scene where the others try to fill in in Joy's absence and well meaning responses come out with attitude), and the result of having no emotional guidance at all.
It's a solid little movie. I don't really see why people would get hype over it though.
