I have a theory. The more people talk about a dead character, the more likely they will get brought back. Both in and outside universe.
For example, when Captain America died in Civil War? Nobody would shut up about it in universe. Every comic would keep hammering in that he's dead and they can't move on, so what do you know, he comes back. This applies to the real world too because people constantly just bring up Gwen, Bucky and Jason.
But it seems like characters like Mettle and Wallflower will just stay dead because neither Marvel nor the fans are talking bout them anymore.
