I'm very hopeful that Norm will surprise you. Maybe turn off your brain for two hours and just enjoy the ride.

Mr. Schneider was allowed to adlib some of his lines, and it definitely shows! He's a tremendous comedian, if you're familiar with the late great Mr. Robin Williams, he turned in a fantastic performance and I think you'll see some of that sort of energy in Norm of the North as well ; )

Because there was no actual effort put into the movie.
It's like a satellite for one big cashgrab. They apparently funded two sequels for this movie to DVD, so we may be seeing this for a while.
It's the same studio that brought us Alpha and Omega, so they're professionals at selling out and using cheap assets to save money when the movies hopefully bomb.
>>
>>78860421
It didn't already?
>>
>>78860468
The trailer does a very good job of summarizing the general direction of the film. Maybe you should watch it again and pay more attention. Marketing is a very crucial part of the modern filmmaking process, and the boys in the department spent a significant period of time under my supervision, as well as working closely with focus groups to ensure that the trailer is as clear and focused as possible.

I suppose nothing is idiot proof though ;)

Lol, you're welcome to believe what you want to believe. I've seen first hand the passion going into this film, not only on my part but for the entire staff. Norm of the North has the pedigree behind it to ensure it will stand amongst the greats of this generation of CGI filmmaking, alongside Shrek and Madagascar. You're certainly welcome to make baseless assumptions before the film is even released but rest assured we do not need your ticket to thrive at the box office.

What is with shitty animated films almost always being released in January?
>>
>>78861018
January is the time of the year for bad movies in general, just like how Summer is usually the time for block busters
>>
>>78861071
That's odd.
Summertime is the perfect time to gross some big bucks, since loads of younger kids and teenagers are off on break and can spend money or beg their parents to go see movies, but January's like a death sentence for a movie.
>>
>>78861132
Your shitty movies won't be competing with the summer blockbusters.

It's the same reason season premieres and new shows are delayed to avoid sharing the date with say...Game of Thrones season premieres. They want zero competition, not "have some competition and it'll probably work out."
>>
>>78861018
Movies that want to contend for oscars tend to be released from thanksgiving to early January. So in that time we see a lot of big movies (regardless of quality) with a lot of advertising power behind them.
After that theres a lull in big movies, so smaller studios or movies with smaller budgets use the time to have less competition
>>
Am I the only one who thinks the animals don't look too bad?
The people on the other hand are another story.
>>
The absolute level of shilling (see: marketing) this movie has is insane for how poorly it's likely going to do anyways.

I work for AMC, and the basic level employees have had to wear crew shirts for the last month with Norm of the North ads all over them.
>>
>>78861465

>>
>>78861593

Yeah they always get obnoxious looking ones, I feel bad for them (I'm not film crew level so I don't have to wear them, thankfully). I think the last two before this were Shaun the Sheep (not a bad movie, but awful design) and Earth to Echo.
