Personally I'd prefer if we saw less cat-baby and more of her old self, just minus the evil.

As much as I like Jasper, I have to say Peridot, Amy and Lion
Lion has proven that he's infinately more useful than Big Buff Cheeto Puff at tanking, and since Jasper is basically only a DPS, Amy fills that roll infinitely better, with her two weapon using feats and shapeshifting. Peridot is obviously the Skill Monkey who can use robanoids for healing.
Jasper is basically the D&D 3.5 Monk as much as it pains me to say. Useless unless using overpowered artifact weapons or buffed by others (e.g. Fusion)
Garnet seems to be an Unarmed Divination Gish Paladin/Cleric of some sort, so she's objectively the best statistically, it's just that I won't be able to stand hanging around her because of alignment requirements. Sometimes shit happens in ways where you end up having to shank a baby with no questions asked, you know?

Time to bring up this theory I've got.
Rose's fighting style.
The things we know in general about gems in combat is that larger gems seem to be more powerful and that their size doesn't appear to limit their acrobatics.
Now Rose herself we know fights with her shield and sword. What really got me thinking is her sword. It's a straight, single edged, wide blade with a hand guard. Barring some complete magic bullshit by someone on the writing team who doesn't know how swords work that sort of sword is used with primarily chopping motions, like a cleaver.
If you take that and add in Rose's shield and the fact that she's (probably) much stronger and out masses most gems, in my mind it seems highly likely that her fighting style would be much less mobile than other gems and more like a full plated knight's; capable of rapid movements and lethal speed but preferring to set her stance and block attacks rather than dodge. And when it came to going toe to toe using power to overwhelm opponents rather than finesse like say Pearl.
