Not too sure about how photorealistic the animal models look. That doesn't always work if you want to have them emote, and have their mouths move like they're talking.

More important question, can the bear sing?
>>
>>78760129
Why? Why not make something new?
>>
>>78760841
since it's edgy and modern there's a bit where he whistles the bear necessities. no singing.
>>
No talking
No singing
No fun

Bill Murray's voicing Baloo, Bill can sing right?

Wait isn't this part of Disneys weird new trend of just remaking their animated films word for word except in live-action?

>>78762461
"Edgy" just means anything now, huh? Whistling without singing is edgy?
>>
>>78762461
Given the context of the song, I could see a few lines of it being left it before the soundtrack cuts to a non-vocal orchestral version of it.
>>
>>78760129
I only just now realized how bizare it seems to have a bear in a n Indian jungle.
>>
>>78761673
Because awkward remakes of animated classics is what's in right now.
Also, give the villain an unwarranted sad backstory because we're still upset that we didn't get Wicked when we had the chance.
>>
>>78765206
It was always a buzzword that boils down to meaning 'unplayful'.

Common Sloth Bears live in Indian jungles.
Asian black bears might also live in Indian jungles.

any chance this might actually be good?
>>

The jungle book is pretty fucking dark mane. Disney went beyond sugar coating with their original adaptation, more like dipping it in caramel then deep frying that bitch in high fructose corn syrup.
>>
>>78769870
Disney always does that. Look at Hercules. The real story is much more interesting

>both have r63'd Kaa
Why is this allowed?

This kind of jungle is pretty much impossible to find in India today
pretty sad desu

King Louie is a goddamned Gigantopithecus!
>>

And both make the mistake of Kaa being a villain. Imagine a female Kaa that's friends with Mowgli and plays with/teaches him stuff.

He's an Asiatic black bear isn't here? I'm also pretty sure they have sloth and sun bears there too. Their ranges overlap too.

OP's version is much more fitting.

Apparently King Louie is actually a neutral threat to full antagonist in the newer version.

Shere Khan is by all means the villain (main villain, to be exact) and would fight any or all of them, just to get to the boy and quickly end him.
Kaa on the other hand was actually an ally in the original story. Only the animated Disney version made Kaa a villain, likely because the west was more religious and would better identify snakes with evil.

Anger is the egg of Fear--
Only lidless eyes see clear.
Cobra-poison none may leech--
Even so with Cobra-speech.
Open talk shall call to thee
Strength, whose mate is Courtesy.
Send no lunge beyond thy length.
Lend no rotten bough thy strength.
Gauge thy gape with buck or goat,
Lest thine eye should choke thy throat.
After gorging, wouldst thou sleep ?
Look thy den be hid and deep,
Lest a wrong, by thee forgot,
Draw thy killer to the spot.
East and West and North and South,
Wash thy hide and close thy mouth.
(Pit and rift and blue pool-brim,
Middle-Jungle follow him!)
Wood and Water, Wind and Tree,
Jungle-Favour go with thee!
>>
Only thing that interest me are Bill Murray (though I'm not complaining, why couldn't they get John Goodman back?) and Christopher Walken.

Muse covering The Bare Necessities? Good god, no. Even with Florence Welch.
>>
>>78770305
Yeah man I've read the Hercules chronicles. Always found it kind of strange when creators try to make kid friendly Greek stories.
>>
>>78760129
>Christopher Walken as Louie
I know the movie itself is going to be mediocre, but fuck I actually want to see it

at least Kaa isn't the wrong species of snake anymore
but I'd love to see him as he was in the book

King Louie's a surviving Gigantopithecus in this version.
>>
>>78777522
In the original Disney movie Baloo didn't look like a sloth bear
>>
>>78778963
The Russian animated jungle book named Mowgli is by far the closest animated move to the source material
>>
>>78760129
I thought Disney couldn't use Louie anymore because of his deceased VA's bitch of a wife.
>>
I want to fuck the snake.
>>
>>78783020
Louie is voiced by Christopher Walken here
>>
>>78765206
I'm just poking fun at reboots of classic Disney movies, you triggered diva. In the trailer we hear the bear whistle the tune at the end. As part of the joke pretend there's some crazy asshole that said "singing the bear necessities would be too faggy!" and this was the compromise.
>>
2 jungle books? the fuck is going on?
>>
>>78789239
Disney's is more based on their animated version, but Origins is more based off the book.
