Storytiming Brian Reed's Ms. Marvel run. Looking back on it, turns out it wasn't as bad as it would get.
And it got pretty fucking bad. Why they even gave it to KSD will forever be one of those unanswered questions.
Not sure how many issues I'll get through today, but I'll try to cover the first two arcs at least.

...Is it a storytime of pain?
>>78688985
Not really. It's not good, but it's entertaining
>>78688985
Nah, it's actually good. Especially when you compare it to what came later.
It's funny. The more Carol became a sensible and competent hero, the less I actually liked her.
A vaguely psycopathic hero being their own worst enemy while still trying to do good - that's something I want to read about.
A beacon for all mankind to look up to who only does good at all times and is loved by everyone - I couldn't care less.
Cheers, OP.

KSD is a woman.
>>78689033
Oh my god, she threw her pussy at him!
>>78689407
So is Immonen. And they never give her shit
>>78689506
Was just about to wonder if her powers include some way to breathe in space.
Man I miss the old costume.
Also, anyone know the source for this...ah, adventure?
>>78689613
Is there a reason why her face looks... very off?
>>78689598
Avengers 200. The time Jim Shooter assassinated Miss Marvel
>>78689706
My sides. This is great
>>78689557
They do now, fyi.
>>78689680
ah thanks, i have to read that
>>78689784
You don't. All you need to know is that Claremont did damage control and gave Miss Marvel's powers to Rogue.
>>78689437
They gave her Hellcat and Sif, both were fun as but they didn't last.
>>78689776
Using House of M for good! Holy shit!
>>78688949
Hey, good going OP. I storytimed it once myself a long time ago.
>>78689820
Sold more than KSD's Captain Marvel
>>78689846
Good being the wife of the cool kids
>>78689820
I fucking loved that journey into mystery run, Sif was cool.
What I always love about Brian Reed’s Ms. Marvel is that it’s essentially the story of person that wakes up one day and realizes she’s in her mid-thirties and still hasn’t actually done anything “great” or “memorable” in her entire life. I wasn’t thirty when I first read it and I’m not thirty even now, but it’s still something of an intrinsic fear that really struck a cord with me.
Other than that, her being uptight, acting aggressive and always ready to throw punches while ebing deeply, deeply insecure about her own strengths, also reminded me of my own behaviours I tried to fix with time.

They should really keep the storm troopers a block away at least or something so as not to scare the teens and such.
>>78690604
Probably not the best idea to use the alien looking person to get the scared kid.

This

Bump
>>78690761
Why is Rogue talking like that?
>>78690970
Exaggerated Southern accent?
>>78690970
No idea.
>>78690997
Pretty much
Back in the day I really thought this book was pretty fucking poor.
I don't know if it's just the nostalgia talking, or if it's just in comparison to the dreck that Marvel's currently producing, but this shit actually ain't half-bad.

RIP wieringo.
>>78690729
>>78690761
So Rogue brought two costumes to wear when confronting Carol?
>>78691058
Agreed
>>78691058
It's probably the latter. God knows Fraction's Uncanny is actually readable now
>>78691085
Perfect way to confuse your opponent I suppose?
