The problem is that these episodes wants you to hate a character for doing something sensible given the circumstances, or praise a character for doing something that was stupid and needless.
Questionable morality only works if you tell the audience to judge for themselves, not when it openly condemns one side.

The subplot was a single joke (Jerry's the sort of guy who comments on YouTube, gets totally assravaged in response, tries to make a witty comeback, gets no responses and refreshes the page all night crying) dragged out into an entire episode full of cringe for no real reason. Fusion Cuisine was great, it explored Steven's relationship with Connie, mainly the not so perfect parts, which you don't often see - normally childhood friends are just instantly thick as thieves, and totally cool with hiding Earth shattering secrets. Here she actually shows off her tower of lies and how she even resents Steven a little for having to do that. The parents all get some pretty good screentime. And the awkward Alexandrite moments were great.
However, I still don't consider SU to be without bad episodes, because, fuck, Ronaldo's just bad. They've tried to explore him more and put a more favourable spin on his insanity, but except for a bit of development in Horror Club, he's annoying as hell and literally needs some fucking emotional counseling. The episode where he goes off the fucking rails for seeing life how it actually is confirms this, it's not cute, is basically mental illness.
