Not... what I was expecting. Not bad and some good ideas, but it feels more like standard superhero stuff than I thought it would.
I mean, I read all of the Forever People and Kirby's Jimmy Olsen, so I know that's all Earth-based.
But now I'm reading all of the titles together in order, and I would had thought that Mister Miracle, or at least the comic called The New Gods would take place in the Fourth World. Instead, all these gods are just chilling on Earth with normal humans, like that team of bland people Orion thinks are a good idea.
I wanted more of getting into Orion's struggles with the violence inside him, Miracle's and Barda's trauma from the Apokaliptian camps, getting to know who those other dudes are, etc. Do I have to get to the post-Kirby Simonson or Byrne stuff for all of that?
