Problems were
Her entire identity was based around, "Who's under the mask" and that's fine for an issue or two, because it gives people time to speculate and form ideas, which is actually REALLY good for a medium, the problem is they kept it going far longer than that because people had MONTHS to go through everything and it became obvious so, it divulged into just wanting them to get on with it.
Furthermore from a story telling standpoint. She was internally inconsistent. They never explained why Mjolnir caused her cancer, or why the hammer was unresponsive to Odin who enchanted it himself.
During her run she had far more, out of character moments, Odin using guns, Titania giving up, Thor giving up his name. Too many people in the stories acted nothing like the ones before this. Even if they were in the same continuity.
Her cancer storyline is pretty offensive, she's all but handed a cure for a disease and she refuses. This a huge slap in the face of EVERYONE who has/d it and to people who have/d to watch someone go through it. If you are an anon whose currently watching someone struggle with cancer and you found out they had a cancer to have it 100% cured with no problems then and their, but their pride got in the way, you'd probably force them to take the fix, just as I would have done. To make that worse, she doesn't even say, "I refuse it, but give it to humanity so no one else has to struggle with it".
To me the worst part of the character is that like many of the recasts. She's not a new character and I don't mean name and person. She acts like Thor, Miles acts like Peter. When in conflict she isn't thinking like a Human with Godlike powers, she's thinking like a God with Godlike powers.

The thing that really bothers me about this is that, super powers or no, dying from cancer is not fun. You don't just go on with your life like nothing's wrong and then die in your fucking sleep one day... cancer is PAINFUL, and piece by piece it takes away your body's ability to function, eventually leaving you a pallid and frail shadow of your former self. At this point powerful drugs that leave you in fever dreams are your only respite from this nightmare.
People getting diagnosed with deadly terminal illness and then living the best years of their life, going on adventures because there's nothing to hold them back, time is ticking... is mostly bullshit. Precious few people experience lengthy remissions or have manageable symptoms, despite the fantasy entertainers and sometimes even cancer survivors themselves, like to propagate.
Most people will spend the last years of their life desperately trying to check off objectives on some bucket list, only to find themselves miserable throughout, plagued by fear of regret, and finding their diseased body and mind not up to the tasks they've set for themselves. They are just too tired, sore, and emotionally drained to enjoy things as much as they dreamed they would. Before long they find themselves struggling with the simplest daily routines we take for granted, all the while knowing tomorrow could be the day they collapse alone to wait for someone to discover their helpless form, or loose control of a basic function like urination, or develop dementia symptoms robbing them of their informed consent and ability to make any decision about their end of life care for themselves.
