The main plot is actually engaging, as compared to new Archie.
But they keep meandering around this Jughead/Principal storyline with the fantasies that are hit or miss. I didn't mind Time Police Jughead, but Game of Thrones and Man from Riverdale Jughead were pertty dumb.

I think that the dream sequences are a stealth way to have multiple stories in one issue while still complying with the basic rules that Archie seems to have set out for this reboot.

The notion would be that Pepper's beliefs and radicalized actions would become more mellowed-out and tolerant in favor of Socratic and other Ancient Greek philosophies and ultimately she would come to seek ultimate truths rather than apply whatever "truth" she concludes based upon her singular point of view.
The real joke is that Pepper's boyfriend in the "Josie" comics is named Socrates ("Sock" for short).
