So I found out that the Go compiler actually lets me cross-compile to any OS/Architecture, and now I feel silly for not realizing this.

Instructions: Download and extract the Zip that works for you, to a folder on its own.
The executable starts a web server that you can go to at http://localhost:9000
Downloading through this downloads the files to a "downloads" folder under the executable,so if you unzipped to Downloads, inside of a folder called "RTdownloader", then your videos will be at "Downloads/RTdownloader/downloads".
Perhaps a bit clunky, but it keeps the files in one place.
You can close the web server (thus closing the program) through the link on the page.
As a note, the files are downloaded as .ts files (which should be runable by most players), and currently the only options are downloading from an m3u8 playlist, or from the roosterteeth.com site. (So AH or FH videos can only be downloaded via their playlist)
Because I can't test it myself, I'd like it if someone could test it out on windows.

I often see people complain about characters lack of development and that it's a negative thing. Pyrrha gets a good deal of it thrown her way. Yet there are what appears to be tons of fans for Neo, a character with no development, not getting this complaint. I've seen the reason given by some that she hasn't been ruined by characterization yet. So which is it?
If someone is bad because of the lack of development, why is it then okay for one to be good in the complete absence of development? And why does a character have to have a lot of background and details? Can't there exist good simplistic characters, does everything need an in depth bio?

Characters with no character tend to get a lot of fans just because those fans project whatever personality they'd like best onto said character. They just fill in the gaps. That's why so many side characters get fans. They have one personality trait and the fans roll with it in every direction imaginable.
The MLP fanbase is a prime example of this.

To answer you properly anon it's more that teams RWBY and JNPR are kinda the main characters at this point.
Ruby herself is supposed to be the main.
The lack of development on characters we're suppsed to care an be rooting for it bad story telling. Their motives? Their aspirations? What are they gonna do?
We complain because alot of the characters don't contibute to the overall narritive. We want the characters to be fleshed out and more like people because otherwise the show becomes static.
Neo is an odd case in that she's an enigma. We know sweet fuck all about her and that mystery is appealing.
Neo likely isn't gonna get development is all likelyhood and that's fine.

The thing is, character development is all over the place. For example, Blake got her entire character arc 1/15 of the way into the series. Jaune's character development is also underway now that he went from nearly defenseless to killing an ursa on his own. Meanwhile, characters like Ruby, the MC, have gotten very little to no development. The problem is that, quite frankly, M&K suck ass at picking who, how and when to develop. Neo is a special case because her one fight with Yang told you everything you need to know about her for now.

So headcanon takes precedent then? Imagined character on a blank slate is better and even preferable to a character with a small amount of canon characterization? Seems silly to me, but I won't judge. What is silly to me is bashing a character that is simplistic or is closer to one note. Why? Not all characters need to be super complex to be good / popular.
Neo may not be well developed or fleshed out, but it's a bit more forgivable because she's a supporting character and at least has enough character quirks to keep her interesting.
Pyrrha's problem is that she's a main character who is neither interesting / quirky nor well developed, despite getting a significant amount of screentime. As a result, she comes off as being a boring character with little to do outside of wanting to fuck Jaune.

I'm not going to touch on whether or not M&K such at writing, because I don't have the eye to judge it myself.
I can understand the frustration at main characters not being focused on or not getting properly fleshed out. But I think we've gotten enough for the point we're at, at least. We learned in some way team RWBY's motivations from their little campfire chat, and we've know Ruby's since early on. We have a bit of background for each as well; Blake the disillusioned former terrorist, Weiss the heiress struggling to fix her families name after dealing with a troubled childhood, Yang the reckless wanderer trying to find her mother and why she left. Ruby just wants to be the hero and that led her to Beacon. We've even got small bits for team JNPR, though Jaune is dominating the time there. I'm not going to say it couldn't be better or more properly laid out, I'm sure it could. But it still feels early in the story and that we know enough for most of what happens to make sense.
Just my point of view of course.
