I liked How Murray Saved Christmas.

Than this year they chopped it up, dropped half the plot, and squeezed it into 22 minutes.

I saw this every year when I was a kid and it's probably the most painfully average christmas special ever made.

Though now that I think about it a little more it really isn't that different from The Year Without a Santa Claus in that regard. They're both kinda boring but have one great song each which makes them stick in my mind.

granted, that's like 95% nostalgia. But I still make time for it every year even though lately I've been watching fewer and fewer of my older staples in favor of trying to find new ones.

Well, the thing that sets the Flintstones Christmas Carol apart from any other Christmas Carol, is that everyone knows it's play, but unlike Mr. Magoo which only appears in the beginning and end, this Christmas Carol cuts back between the play and reality, with Fred Flintstone being a scrooge himself, but not being obsessed with money, but with playing the part of scrooge in the play, to even to the point where he forgets to pick up his daughter peebles from daycare plus it's the only Christmas Carol that tried to get Scrooge and Belle back together, and actually works ingeniously, while the muppets christmas carol, is just a Christmas Carol with Muppets, that all... sorry...

While I disagree heartily (muppets and the one with scrooge mcduck are probably tied for #1 in my opinion) it's easily up there and definitely an underrated special.

Though I'm still partial to the episode where santa fucks his leg up and fred and barney have to be santa for him.

Yeah, and you know I can see this being made in like 2005 or 2006, 4 reasons:
1: Gary Coleman was still alive & he'd be perfect for the role of Elvin
2: Miranda Cosgrove was still young so she'd perfect for the role of Evilina
3: It would've been 2 or 3 years after the special released so it would be still fresh to pick
4: It's the mid-2000s, so capitalize on the Hip Hop/Rap Craze
plus, it would still be in the VHS days, which I LOVE!!!!!
