Can't decide that for you but if you liked Transmetropolitan for what it was, you'll like Prez.
Just remember, it's DC, not Vertigo: you're not getting "I masturbate constantly and fling my steaming poison semen down from my window into your hair and food", cats will not be pissing into phones on command, I repeat this is not Ellis' delicious brand of edge.
That said, it has some really heartfelt moments I don't think Transmet could've pulled off in the slightest.

Issue 1 was great, and The Golden Boy is my favorite not-Jesus. The Vertigo Vision is really good too once you get into it.

Confirmed for not even reading a sypnosis of Prez.
I feel like the pacing is way too high. I love the rapidfire snippets of future society being all sorts of shiny and fucked up, but latest issue felt like it could have been told better stretched out a bit more.
Which probably comes from having a story to tell and a whole world to show but with a constant looming threat of cancellation overhead.
Definitely better than original Prez, and yeah, probably better than Transmet by virtue of not having scum as a narrative focus point. It's not "the world is fucked up and getting a couple punches in are the best you can hope for" nor idealistic "young people are the only hope we have now".
