Cartoons do make me happy. That's why I watch them. Normal shows end up depress me even more. I think normies love Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad because they like having drama they don't get a lot in their lives, but for someone like me its intensity is too close to home for the feelings I have for myself. In cartoons, everything's light and happy and there are always jokes, so I feel good watching them.

I prefer cartoons over real life television, even the less bright and colorful ones like Tron because they have a grander sense of adventure and fun to them. Adventures and fun that I'll never know.

i didnt even take pictures. i'm sure my wife would be putting up with my aging if i'd gotten with her earlier, but now I still don't have one and I'm no longer able to compete with younger more virile men.

We were given hope, told we could be whatever we wanted to be if we just dreamed it, that we had unlimited potential.
But we'll never live up to that potential, and that's what hurts the most. The failure to live up to that hope that we could be more than this.
Reality is too painful and boring to face head on. So i just cushion the blow with comics and anime, it's easier that way. Even though escapism is an awful thing that will probably end up hurting me more in the long run, i can at least have some small moments of happiness in the form of drawn/animated stories about lives far more interesting than mine will ever be.

I used to be sad and depressed until i got into to the college i wanted to this september. Now i got a future ahead and i haven't felt this good in 3 years. What makes me feel extra good about myself was that i managed to do this without the help of meds or a psychiatrist.
I feel happy, and i can say that and mean it.
But yeah, cartoons used to be my way of escaping when i were depressed and felt sad when i wasn't watching them. It's probably like that for more people here.
