I think TTG can be funny, but it has more misses than hits, and the recent seasons have gotten way more desperate for finding something to fill episodes with. Several recent episodes pretty much feature the characters dealing with some concept like "Spicy Food" or "Adulthood" or "Birthdays" combined with some sort of magic bullshit and non-sequitur gags. Still, even then some jokes still manage to be solid, and even the bad jokes are made bearable due to the 10/10 performances by the 5 core VAs. It's really just not aimed at the old show's fans, although the show doesn't need to remind its viewers of that fact (MULTIPLE times).
The sub-plot in the original series episode where Robin goes to visit a martial arts master and the other Titans wear his spare costumes while he's gone is funnier than practically everything in TTG, for the record.

So I really tried hard to watch this show and give it a chance but most of it just really bad. Which is sad because I like the first couple of episodes. The animation was better and the humor was a little more subtle. Like the episode where Cyborg clones himself or the pie shop one.
But as the seasons go on they just stopped giving a fuck. The animation goes to shit and so does the writing. The plot of almost half the episodes involves Raven reading something from her book and them having to travel to the_____ kingdom to fight the _____king. Basically a lazy device that lets them write in whatever they want.
Like the pepper one where they have to go fight the dairy king who is a giant cow.
Then you have characters switching personalities per episodes. One episode Robin's the straight faced one the next he's retarded. Show's all over the place
The only good episode of the last season was the high school one. The show went from hit and miss to miss and miss and miss again.

This is my biggest problem with the show. Robin started out as a straight man, but quickly became the selfish asshole with nuts loose and an obsessive crush.He usually gets bullied by Cyborg and Beast Boy except when they are the BFF trio randomly. Beast Boy varies from being a full retard or just not being book smart. Then you have Cyborg who can't make up his mind on whether he's the genius or as dumb as Beast Boy.

Bad timing. TTG came out when CN's was killing DC's action block on Saturdays. Young Justice and Green Lantern were killed just as TTG was arriving.
