Ah, I remember that every time I would open a note or read a sign in that game, you would need to press the escape button to go back to the actual game, but my button was broken, so it would basically just kill all the progress I made and would just have to reset the whole game. I remember getting to the desert city before I messed up and read something on accident. I never tried again after that.

You wouldn't know it looking back now, but the "updates" came completely unannounced as a pathway the characters were digging broke open, or a new character showed up in a town. It was a lot of fun, and really encouraged you to keep looking around to see if something new had happened.

LoMN is hands down the best movie. Web of Shadows isn't as solid, but has the best cinematography and fight choreography of the movies. Mask of Light was... interesting. It has some genuinely interesting ideas going on narratively, dealing with the themes of Duty and Destiny, but it was also really really cheesy compared to the other movies. Legend Reborn was bland as shit, and only saved by some great voice acting, and by the fact that every single second Metus was on screen was pure gold.

It was interesting to see how the movies have become darker by the time of WOS, reflecting the changes in the story, but it was let down by a meh plot and time constraints. I'd pay to see an entire series done in the same style. That would have plenty of opportunities to flesh out the world and characters, and you know, actually explain stuff instead of requiring you to look up supplementary material to know what's going on.

The Island of Mata Nui was basically the robot's camo mask when it visited different planets. The Bohrok were a system meant to clean it up before he took off, but Makuta released them early to fuck with the Matoran on the island.

That's pretty much it, every location of every story arc except the last few take place inside the giant robot that is Mata Nui; the first story arc, Voya Nui, Mahri Nui and the last arc(s) being the exceptions.
Also since we're talking about lore, that Red Star you saw in the telescope on the mountain was a jetpack for the Mata Nui robot, and housed a foundry that "repaired" dead characters as long as there was something left to be brought back from.

That game was so awesome. Too bad the sequel is buggy and unfinished. I've got a copy of it on my hard drive somewhere around here, but the game really doesn't go anywhere after the intro and just crashes a bunch. Early 2000s lego flash games were the shit.
After they got out of Mata Nui I didn't really stick with it, even with a kid. Plot got too complicated and I didn't like any of the new characters.

When you get to Le-Wahu, when you first get the flute, if you click on the little blue box it causes an unending loop of the beginning of the following cutscene, I have to refresh the page to get out of it.
Do I have to click on the little blue box? I know you need to do something for the flute to do a Simon Says thing, but is it the blue box, or something else?

Yanno, hoping against hope I kinda wanted the fourth movie to follow the darker and more violent tone the story had at the time, and take advantage of Lego's loosened anti-violence policy which detracted so much from the previous movies.
Instead, it was cheesier and kiddier than all the others by far. A direct opposite of the bleak, death-filled books and stupidly edgy serials the writer was putting out.
